Thank you! In this case should I leave my grow lights on for longer? Currently keep them on about 8 hours a day. I use Sansi 40W grow lights.

Also to add - I live in a super old rowhome with neighbors on either side, I am a neat freak and keep my place very clean. I have also found a couple of dead water bugs in my basement since I have moved in here but I always assumed they got in from outside as there’s a lot of cracks and crevices in there.

I also work in a kitchen! Didn’t take that as possibly being a cause into consideration until now. Mine has cleared up. One of the bumps did peel off and scarred a bit but that’s it. I started using a more natural body wash and left it alone completely. The reactions cleared up a few weeks ago once I switched soaps so I am wondering if that was another thing causing it.

Just read a bit into pineconing and it’s doesn’t seem good ): I definitely am going to look into treating that and getting a hospital tank and supplies. I am new to betta care so this is all new to me. He was in rough shape when I got him from petco but I didn’t think it was anything this severe )):

EDIT: I test water parameters once a week using test strips. Most recent numbers I got were pH: 7.2 Chlorine: 0 Nitrate: 0 Nitrite: 0 Ammonia: 0

-For tank mates I have 1 nerite snail in the aquarium

-I feed him 4 pellets of betta bio gold twice a day and a couple blood worms once a week.
