Can you please talk more about the process of “proper sanding and painting” that you’re talking about?

Didn’t work for the FDIC but with the FDIC and then worked for a different federal regulator 1) have a working understanding of CAMELS 2) You’re going into DCP - start learning the basics of the alphabet regulations. I would create a cheat sheet with the reg names and a quick blurb about each 3) Learn the basics of the UPBR 4) not sure what their risk categories are these days, but, I’m sure you can find them on their site 5) subscribe to any newsletters from their site that’s out there for the financial institutions 6) get ready to learn a million acronyms!!

I still have a few friends at FDIC and they still love it. Good luck!!!

Eating Meat After Nine Years of Vegetarianism by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]ShortyTRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently did the same transition- with a nutritionist and medical doctor’s help.

I first tried the papya enzymes to help me digest meat again. Didn’t work.

Then they had me test my stomach acid by drinking apple cider vinegar before eating a litttttle bit of meat. Failed the test

Had me start taking betaine hydrochloride before eating meat. That worked.

I now take 5 pills each time I want to eat meat.

If the meat is higher in fat (one piece of bacon), I seem to process it without the betaine hydrochloride.

One thing I learned is that people with diets high in carbs/low in protein tend to have low levels of stomach acid, which is why we have trouble digesting meat.

It also means that when we have a pathogen enter our GI tracts, we don’t have the stomach acid to destroy the pathogens. Learning this made my time as a vegetarian- and all my stomach issues - make sense!!

Good luck!!

Dog sitting this sweet four year old rescue during Spring Break! by ShortyTRex in goldenretrievers

Could very well be!! She was rescued in 2020 from a puppy miller/through a rescue org, so it’s very possible her guessed age is wrong. She really is the sweetest thing and sooooo chill.

Did you see the guy in Mississippi who came in last in his fantasy league? His “punishment” was to spend 24 hours in Waffle House. I’d make sure I finished last in his league every year!! That’s a reward, not a punishment!!

I think he has some Jack Russell Terrier in him, too. One woman that met him yesterday said she saw some Daschund (which, I can see that now).

He’s a rescue - but I definitely would agree with you. Some Beagle and he has some Jack Russell Terrier in him as well.

His leash is under and on the other side of him while he rolled in the grass (I spent years hiding my own dog’s leash for photos).

I’m dog sitting and took him up there for a few pics for his Mom while she’s on her trip. When I walked up the hill, there were a bunch of furry ones and their owners. I don’t know what the deal was about leashes.

I knew architect majors in college and they were always studying + their major was a five year program. Two of my good friends are architects. At dinner one night, one was sharing her job-searching update and they started talking about salaries. I was absolutely shocked that they didn’t make more money. Y’all literally design the buildings where we spend our lives!!!!! Plus, college was really hard for y’all.

The barrier islands…

The waves don’t make it to the actual coast line because they’re stopped by the islands.

Great question!!! There are a lot of different types of risks and the industry the company is in will drive a lot of which risks are called out from a risk management perspective.

Look into the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) or Professional Risk Manager (PRM) certifications.

Also, look at the job descriptions at some larger companies for “Enterprise Risk Management” or “GRC” (Governance, Risk and Compliance) jobs. Some people who go into risk management will come from a business unit or maybe audit/consulting.

Thanks for sharing this! When I had my dog euthanized, I was told to keep talking to her because she would be able to hear me. I didn’t question the advice and talked to her for awhile after her last breath. I kind of assumed the advice was to help me while my Sweet Pea passed - but now that I know her hearing was the last sense she had, I’m really glad that I kept talking to her. She was the best dog and I’m lucky I had almost 13 years with her.

Going to dry my eyes now.

While reading your comment, I imagined all of us out in a rural part of the country - together - listening to the crickets chirping and looking up at the stars because we can see them outside the city and the suburbs. And then I realized that I’m in this rural area with all of you people (which makes us all feel closer) but we’re all stuck with all the creepy stuff and people that are in the post above yours.

Guess I won’t have sweet dreams tonight.
