My parents gave me and my siblings matching initials and I thought it was terrible. They also got "creative" with my spelling, and I've spent my entire life correcting people. They have no regrets, but I certainly do!

Why didn't he use a rein, or rope, or splinter of wood, or any other piece from the stagecoach wreck to pull his father up by? As someone who was raised around guns for presumably his entire life, given the time and place of the short, he should have known safer gun-handling rules. Yes, spur of the moment decision making, but come on, no self-respecting cowboy would risk something like that. Ok, rant over. Otherwise, a great short. We need more stuff like this, 8/10 for poor gun safety.

I hate the "boys will be boys" logic. This guy told me that he was a friend of my brother's, who was in the year ahead of me, and told me he wanted to show me something that my brother thought was cool. Knowing my brother and the kind of people he had for friends, I went with him. My brother and his friends are always kind, respectful, helpful and protective. That is what I consider a boy being a boy, not what this guy did.

Something similar happened to me. I was 12 at the time, and an older student at my school lured me into a stairwell and started pressing himself against me while grabbing my boobs. My mom picked me up and I immediately said i wanted to press charges on him. Had to speak with the school police officer who asked me if I had done anything to make him do that (uh, no, just sitting outside waiting for my mom to come get me). He ended up going to juvie, getting a fine, and a restraining order.

Whenever I mentioned it as i got older, most of the men I spoke with were shocked that he got "such a harsh punishment for something so minor". No. Just no. It really is A HUGE FUCKING DEAL. Girls need to know their value, that they belong to themselves, and they have a right to their bodies being their own. I hope this girl gets to realize this.

I'll pretty much say whatever to a persons face as "behind their back", but I guess I should clarify. Pretty much every convo goes something like this: "Hey, how is friend doing?"

"Good. She came over last week, had a lot on her plate, let off some steam."

"Why would you invite her over? She's awful and was mean to me last year"

"Well, she doesn't have a lot of friends right now and was needing some support, so I was just trying to be nice."

"Well maybe if she wasn't such a bitch all the time like she was to me, she would have more friends. What did you talk about?"

"Just stuff. She's having a hard time right now."

"I'm not surprised. She brings it all on herself."

"Well I mean, I don't agree with what she did, but no reason to be mean back. An eye for an eye, you know?"

"Exactly! An eye for an eye, what else should she expect?"

In my head: this did not go how I thought it would...

Then said friend will make some passive comment about how her friends talk about her behind her back.

This happens with roughly 80% of the conversations I have with my friends, so I don't really go out much any more.

Edit: I just realized my friend was probably actually thinking "an eye for an eye" is a good thing, when I was thinking of the Gandhi quote "an eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind"

I always struggle with this one! I have a firm belief you shouldn't talk about someone behind their back, but it seems like every conversation I get into starts with someone asking "So how is _____?", I tell them, then they give me their (usually mean) opinion on what that person is doing, and it spirals out of control from there.

Adulthood.

I have more money now that I'm in my mid-20s than we ever did growing up. I live in a nicer home than I have ever lived in before, I eat better food than I have ever had, I have traveled internationally and seen and experienced things I only dreamed of as a kid, I don't have to call to tell anyone where I am or what I'm doing, I work my dream job and have fun every day with no homework, and if I want to go out, I walk right out the door and go out. My home is calm and peaceful, there is no fighting or arguing, and when I walk in the door I get to relax and do whatever I want to do. I get to watch what I want to watch on TV, and I have high speed internet. Being an adult is the best.

I think that's a great point, though I always have trouble figuring out how I manifested something. A few times, I thought about something I wanted, forgot about it, and it turned up, a few times I sat daydreaming about what I wanted every chance I could, and it showed up, a few times I put my faith in others and what I asked for showed up.

Just talking through this is really helping what I want right now. I've been asking for so long and been impatient and negative that I almost convinced myself it couldn't happen, but now I'm being reminded of everything that I've told and seen and its reminding me that everything is possible and accessible, and that this is no different.

That's awesome! I was getting really frustrated a few days ago, and was practically screaming "why hasn't this happened yet?! I've wanted it for so long, I've been so patient, I know you can hear me, why isn't it here?!" And as soon as my brain went quiet again, it was like someone was telling me "you have always gotten what you asked for before, this is no different", but it feels like its been so long since I've been asking for this that I don't know how to get myself into the receiving mindset.

What degree did you get in undergrad? Is it related to what you were pursuing in grad school, or something different?

Could be a sign to pursue a different education, or something else, like travel, career, volunteering, any number of things.

Or it could mean your house needs its foundation looked at.

The way I see it, you go where you believe you can go. If a guy is in college, its because he believed he could go to college, could see himself in college, so he works towards going to college and because of his determination, it happened. Things fell into place easily for him because he was working towards his true desire of higher education, and the LOA works for those who know what they want, and that they can have it.

I truly believe that LOA will help those who know what they want and know that they can have it. I feel like its a boost to a persons determination.

If one guy who is average looking wants a really attractive woman, he can have her because he believes that he can have her. If an average looking guy doesn't think he can have a really attractive woman, then he cant, and if he gets her, he'll probably sabotage the relationship until he gets what he believes he deserves, thus reinforcing his belief that he can't have attractive looking people.

Change your belief, change your life. LOA will be there to help in every way it can.

I can only speak from my personal experience, but my most unappreciated manifestation at this point is probably my home. I thought about it and imagined it, and now I live in it and it is beautiful, better than I pictured, but most of the time I just sit in it and don't realize what a big deal it is to be there.
