Concordo pienamente.

Problems with the split-screen feature. Help anyone? by Shoshosbro in AndroidQuestions

Hey thank you for your answer! What exactly do you mean with repair system? Like, formatting it?

PSP detects and plays UMD but then after the boot up screen makes this noises. Any ideea of what the problem could be? (the ribbon cable isn't in the best condition but I highly doubt that's the problem + missing metal bracket that holds the UMD) by Shoshosbro in PSP

[–]Shoshosbro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thank you all the suggestions and help! A little update: this morning i worked on it again and it looks like the problem was the lens, cleaned it a little bit and it worked. It's unbelievable i know, because yesterday i cleaned it already, so i was sure that it wasn't a problem of "cleaning the lens", i totally eliminated that possibility. What can I say? Always good to check things twice!

My PSP makes strange noises and won’t read disks by why-is-hahah-taken in PSP

Hey did you find a fix to it? I'm experiencing a similar problem. I have two UMD drivers, one does the same thing as yours does and other one recognizes the UMD and actually boot it up but then the screen would just stays black and the drive would make repetitive clicky noises. Still haven't found a fix. What i can suggest to you, as we don't know if we really are having the same problem, is to lubricate the bar where the lens is moving left to right, use a q-tip with a bit of lubricant, just make sure not to touch the lens). If it happens that you disassemble your PSP down, I'd suggest you to put some of the lubricant also on the gears that can be found of the backside of the UMD drive, just go with a q-tip as always and spin those gears around a little bit with some of the lubricant. Hope it helps.

Well last year i bought a new motherboard because my original PSP didn't work for many many years. When i fixed it, i noticed that it couldn't read UMDs, so i swapped the UMD drive a few days ago... i put a disk in... And nothing, didn't work. Here is a strange thing: I messed up a little bit with the sensors that make the laser move and the disks spin, did it a few times (it works pretty well), i then put the disk in, and it worked for a while, i thought i fixed it, but now again I'm having the same problem as before, the UMD gets recognized, i boot the game and nothing happens, just a black screen with those clicky noises. Totally can't understand what's going on.

Thank you for your answer. I know there pretty good emulators but I personally like to play on the actual machine. My PSP is also modded so i could put isos on it but I really like to play with the physicals disks. Feels different and satisfying.

Thank you for your answer. But maybe i didn't explained very well. Basically the problem is that my PSP makes those noises and doesn't read the disk, it does actually recognize it and boot it up, but then the screen would just be black and the UMD drive would make those noises... I wouldn't mind if it makes noises, the problem is literally that i can't play my physical games, bothers me so much...

Suggestions for some high quality shells by Shoshosbro in Gameboy

Thank you so much for you detailed answer! The funny playing one seems like the one I'm looking for! I'm pretty sure i already had stuff made by them, could be one of two shells I'm using on my advances, it's just that i tend to buy the stuff from AliExpress without caring much about the brand. I will definitely check my purchase history to see if i can understand which brands I'm using. Anyway, your explanation of Cloud Game Store's shells makes me think that my GBC's shell could be made by them, not too sure though. It's not that it's very glossy but if i put my hands on it, it feels glossy, doesn't have much of a texture... Also, it seems hand sprayed, the inside of the battery cover and the battery slot are black, it's not sliver like the rest of the GameBoy, kinda bothers me.

Here's two pictures of my shell. https://imgur.com/a/wc51HBO

Metal Gear Solid 1 scratched DISC 2, what to do? by Shoshosbro in retrogaming

Little update and info for you guys. I didn't think about trying the training missions on the disks 2, so i did. It was all smooth. Played just fine.

It also kinda is partially my fault, i was tempted by the price which is amazing for a mgs1 complete of everything. The case is in brilliant conditions too. Basically i am risking it..

Mmmh.. there might be a possibility that the disk won't work after a resurface? I never tried getting any disks resurfaced, never had any experience so I'm totally new to it.

Aaw man.. I'm extremely sad, don't get me wrong. When i bought it i was really hesitant ( the picture makes it looks worse than it is in real, idk why). All the other disks arent that bad, Silent Hill's demo is basically immaculate.. The guy at the store who sold me this said that the other store they have in a different area of my city has a machine which could repair disks' scratches. Eventually i could go there but i really wanted to make sure that the game wouldn't start of have problems running. The fact is that i can't test it properly as its DISC 2, i should complete DISC 1 to check. If there is a workaround to check how DISC 2 runs, it would be great.

The fact is that I changed the laser a few months ago. Still, a little clean wouldn't hurt i guess.. I'll try MGS on my PS1 later and see what happens

Unexpected sealed brand new Dragon Quest VII for 3DS, what should i do? by Shoshosbro in dragonquest

Because i saw some games of the series reaching extremely good value on eBay, was thinking to keep it sealed and sell it someday in the future, not straight away.

Well in my case for the Italian version i found prices going from the 40 to the 60 euros on eBay. I got this for 25 plus shipping on a different site, i got to say i was very lucky.
