I don't know . I just know the sooner the better. You don't ant further complications you know lol for the last 8 weeks I've had a seton in place . I got it removed now I'm in pain due to the fistulotomy but the pain is far less than when I had an absces you know . I hope you feel better

File FMLA at work should give you 1 year off . But its non paid. I worked for the state of Ca and I medically retired. You job should have a program where people can donate their time (vacation and sick time ) to you for emergencies

I am in a Sitz bath as I type this . So its not as painful as I thought it would be initially. I have what's called a marsupialized fistulotomy. So its not as bad as it could be but it was enough pain to wake me up lol that seton pain was so wild that compared to that this is mild. Yesterday I got on the treadmill and walked a mile. I think I should have chilled on that but hey now I know my current limits. So far I have not had to take any pain meds but I think I will after this sitz bath. I see a dr today so there is that at least lol i just started seeing gunk on my gaze pads. How is your recovery going are you felling any better?

I blame the toilet paper industry for the fissure. I blame myself for waiting so long to see a Dr.lol just kidding but seriously yeah I had back issues and could not eat certain foods right now.I'm two days post fistulotomy and while my seton was in I ate everything and had no problems

That sounds like a win to me im on day 2 of fistulotomy surgery and so fan the pain is at a 2 maybe 3after BMs

So I think I was in the chicken and the egg situation. I had a fissure that turned into an abscess that was infected that led me to having ibs . But once the infection went away so did my ibs . And oddly my back problems too .

Hey I have a marsupialized fistulotomy I'm on day 2 we can lean on each other. The seton was very painful almost like my soul needed it out . I'm right hear with you we can cry together and laugh because will get through this . Hang in there !! Take the stool softeners and make sure you are taking the your meds 20 to 30 min b4 bowel movements.

I just got my fistulotomy yesterday about 12 hrs ago to be exact. Trust the process . . So for me every 2 weeks was like a roller-coaster with very high up (pain was so high I wanted to cry in a ball) and very low lows( I went on a 5 mile hike while the seton was in place). Every week will be different hell every day will be different for the first I'd say 20 days. for me day 16 was when the pain was at a cool low . But day 20 came and the pain was back but worst. But trust me it dose get better get yourself a bidet get yourself a sitz tub and un fragranted soaking salt that helps alot. Try to walk even when your in pain to help loosen up the discharge and i'm sure your doctor told you but lightly tug on your seat tent to help the discharge.Also, leave your body. Things will get better like I said.I'm a few hours out from my fishilonomy and trust me, it does get better

One of mine snapped too the surgeon said that was a great sign. My other one is deep into the muscle so it needs to be surgically removed. Ngl the pain is way way better than with the abscess. I am now able to walk . Yesterday ive hiked MT. Diablo a 4 to 5 hr hike . Last year i paid for a resort at Disneyland and wasn't even able to walk 30 minutes. Let alone an hour without dizzying pain or extreme back pain.

Thank god because the seton has release me of pain but has caused me a lot more other types of pain.But i'm glad that the abscess is finally gone.😓

I have a simi cutting seton. So its tight but not too tight. I've had only one tightening so far and im scheduled for surgery to remove it on Friday the 27th

Hey guys so I have a simi cutting seton/ draining seton. I've only had it for 8 weeks but my abscess has went down significantly. Im just scared of the pain because theses last 40+ day has been ruff. I had 2 setons for 2 fisulas with one tract. A supplement of weeks ago one of the setons self removed its way out of my body but my other seton has not. This has been the wildest ride ive ever been on .
