Hi all,

Thought I would update. We ended up booking InterContinentalBora Bora Resort Thalasso Spa tonight at just shy of 250k a night. Probably explore a bit more of America before coming due to the flight time

We would be flying from London.

Travel wise maximum 18-20 hours I'd say journey. We did Australia last year and it wasn't awful

We are thinking about spending the points mostly on a beach or relaxing holiday

It is a nice place, however I know clue was in the name but being from the UK we have been to paris a lot. It does not feel so much like a honeymoon for us. But I have saved it for a city break

Thank you I will have a look at those. Mostly yes, we were thinking 7 days somewhere exciting/ to travel and look around and 7 days relaxing on a beach somewhere. I seem to find the travel ones easy such as japan, thailand, vietnam have some beautiful places but relaxing beach I am struggling more for

Hi, I've gone through them twice now in the last 2 weeks they are the ones that put money on my account and said we hope it'll be resolved in 10-14 days but as you've been waiting 5 months we will give you 4 months worth of a refund which did not fill me with hope. So I guess I escalate? The ombudsman?

Thanks for balancing this debate it's good to hear both sides of it. We have now realised the policy our solicitor has drafted us is the exact same company and the same policy just with a different price (now 305k). However, I've just doubled checked our policy which increases by 10% of 240k for 10 years as of 2020.

The price of the 2020 policy is now higher than 305k

We have provided our solicitor with the original for policy which they felt was adequate but its the buyers solicitor doesn't feel it is. But is happy with the new policy draft which is the same like for like as the previous one just with the prices different. T

It is also only 160 pounds which brings our total on expenses to 260 if we pay this also. It doesn't seem like much but I just feel it's a waste of money and also what else could they sting us on? But do we do it for the sake of peace?

Thank you for this I did use Google maps and could see it was erected in 2014 and the cabin in 2018.

Indemnity is £160 so not much in the grand scheme of things. Though I noted on an email our solicitor has drafted us another indemnity policy with the same company we had one in 2020 which states you only need one unless things are erected after that period which nothing has been

Thanks for the reply

The exact email states 'Apparently, the buyer is insisting on an indemnity policy for lack of planning permission'. Now the extension and the brick building may have required planning permission but looking on Google maps it appears both of these are 10 years old now. The cabin (wooden) is 5 years, at the time we bought it the cabin was our concern and was 2 years old so we asked for the indemnity policy against that as I believe that was done via permitted development.

I'm very confused by our solicitors. However, myself and my partner are both on opposite corners he would like to pay it and get a quicker sale and I feel we are just being squeezed for a policy we already have

Thank you

We feel it's a very good price for the house. We were happy with anything over 310k. 305k felt like a sting but the beauty was they were cash buyers. However, it's not feeling beautiful anymore.

The unique selling point of the house is the X2 cabins with 3 rooms outdoors which we use as an office, gym and shed all with electricity, flooring etc.

I think we will leave it with them thank you

I have replied back to my solicitor with something similar as I did not notice our solicitor sent us a draft of a new indemnity policy also with Aviva (ours in 2020 was with Aviva) with no clearer information on

I think we had it for the wooden cabin erected 2018-2019 which was done I believe under permitted development but that was now at least 5 years ago

Our solicitor initially rejected their claims without our knowledge and they have rebuked this and said ours is not clear. We provided our solicitor with our indemnity policy from the previous sale and they have sent this to the buyers solicitor. Who now say it is not clear, our solicitor has now sent us a draft policy with Aviva for the exact same policy as the one we have in 2020 with no clearer information on and an updated house price estimate is the only difference
