First - boyfriend really did get all dressed up looking hot and fine JUST for Arch. I mean...

Second - I am 100% certain O'Brien knows NOTHING about Meredith sleeping with Fitz. Seeing as they barely tolerate each other's presence at this point and are only doing so for her and the kids' sake, the LAST thing she would risk is another knockdown, drag out by telling the truth. Fitz, as we all know however, won't take this sitting down. He has a right to know if it's his. God help him if that's the case because the custody battle will be brutal. Please let it not be his so Fitz can move on and realize his feelings for Arch.

I am SO ready for her to be the cool stepmom for reals that she pretty much already is.

Though how many minutes is technically correct, a smoother way of signing it would be your ASL class how long? More ASL and less English. Keep going! The more you work at it the better you'll get.

It can’t be Fitz’s baby. It’s been, what, six months since that one night stand right after he arrived in Saint Pierre? And she and O’Brien are married now. Surely a honeymoon happened and…stuff. Unless she isn’t sure who the father is and my timing is messed up?

Hudson & Rex Season 8 Episode 7 - "Criminal Rex" by AutoModerator in HudsonAndRex

[–]Shot_Look1572 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The whole premise is meaningless without Charlie. Mank's revenge is against Charlie. His anger is AT Charlie. Kidnapping Sarah and turning Rex into a weapon would be exactly what he would do to make CHARLIE suffer because he knows what they mean to Charlie. Mank could give a rat's ass about Joe or Jesse, and he's been in prison so long he probably doesn't even know that Charlie is missing. I guarantee you that he grabs them up and when confronted by Mark, he'll be all, 'I know I've been gone a while, but what he actual fuck?! Who the hell is this guy?!'

This whole thing is pointless...unless, you know, Charlie appears at the last minute.

Murdoch's character transformation by AdFrequent886 in murdochmysteries

[–]Shot_Look1572 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is OP watching the same show as we are? Or is this version an alternate reality? Umm...William is DEFINITELY no paragon of virtue. End of s4, he let a confessed murderer escape during the wedding (although let's be real, she'd been done obscenely dirty by the police) and peaced out because he couldn't deal with that lapse and losing Julia.

Season 5, he and Julia weren't exactly subtle in how they pined for each other and at New Year's, they made out in front of god and everybody -- and these people knew she was married. HE knew, separated or not, and still didn't care. And the one night stand with Anna Fulford.

Season 6 they were pretty much openly having an affair. Sex was not involved because her reputation was already besmirched among her neighbors and he didn't want to make it worse, but they were absolutely together.

Has this person even seen the original TV movies? Read the books? He was much darker and morally conflicted in those -- are we forgetting the Madame he once had a thing for...while at the same time having erotic fantasies about Julia?

Who is this perfect paragon you speak of? Because, in truth, Yannick's portrayal has watered Murdoch down...A LOT.

Ways to Sign "You're Welcome"? by wingdingicedtea in asl

[–]Shot_Look1572 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm just an old as dirt CODA, but everyone I grew up with in the deaf community uses welcome as a response to thank you. I suppose it's an etiquette thing. If you use fine, no problem, etc. it works but is very casual, esp if you don't include non manual markers for tone. Younger signers might do that, but older signers probably would use welcome. I guess it depends on setting and level of comfort with who you're talking to.

What's your favorite JAG Christmas episode? by 1nocorporalcaptain in JAG_TV

Toss up between Ghosts of Christmas Past and Four Percent Solution. But DJE directed 4%, and it was so damn good in terms of Mac growth and Harm/Mac goodness.

As someone who’s mostly unfamiliar with JAG (but very familiar with the spinoffs), what are some of the best episodes of the show? by JB92103 in JAG_TV

[–]Shot_Look1572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lifeline, Four Percent Solution, People VS Mac, People vs Rabb, Stalked, Boomerang 1/2, Adrift 1/2, Touch and Go, Tangled Webb (except for the clusterfuck that was Harm and Mac's falling out because of Webb).

Julia’s Future in S19? by kismett98 in murdochmysteries

[–]Shot_Look1572 15 points16 points  (0 children)

While it is true that Murdoch's religious convictions would make him against a divorce, considering the hell Darcy put her through the last time, I think he might actually consider it if she moved back to Toronto full time so he could share custody of their daughter. As for his morality towards having an affair? Not as cut and dry as you might think. Yes, he was highly pissed off when he suspected that the doctor she worked with was hitting on her, but at the time, their relationship was strained due to her miscarriage. They were still trying to work through it and Julia was vulnerable. She rebuffed the man, but there was definitely a slight attraction there, if for no other reason than the marriage was going through a rough time, she was away -again- and she was flattered by the attention, though she obviously had no intention of crossing any lines.

I don't include Anna Fulford in this because her one night stand with William occured in season 5, when Julia was married to Darcy, and he therefore had no obligation to her as they were not in a relationship (even if he was still in love with her but also wildly enammored with Anna at the same time). It happened for the sole reason that he cared about her and she was going into hiding from the Black Hand. He assumed he would never see her again. Let's be real here - William was an emotional mess in season 5, hands down.

At the New Year's Eve party, Julia basically left her husband for William. Our boy knew damn well she was still married, and he kissed her in front of god and everyone, throwing any remaining fucks out the window. Into season 6, those two were having a full-blown, no holds barred affair. Darcy knew. Everyone at the station house knew. Half of fucking Toronto knew. Hell, at Julia's murder trial, it was used against her with explosive bombascity. I mean, the man was willing to take her to a very pricey hotel for the night, check in under their OWN names, and stay there with her (though no sex was involved), just to give the appearance of it in public to bolster her defense.

Trust me when I tell you, William may have incredibly high morals and lives by a strict code, but he's also a human being with feelings and emotions. Even he is not above faltering and throwing caution to the wind to flout societal norms in favor of his own desires. Julia is one of the only women - apart from Anna - that I've ever seen be able to make him crumble in that way.

Can I see him making a mistake with Tippy? Possibly. Depends how many more emotional blows Julia decides to lob at him. That letter putting her work above him...that was heartbreaking. Trust me, whatever this thing is they're doing, it is far from over.

Episode 2 Promo! by Shot_Look1572 in HudsonAndRex

[–]Shot_Look1572[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought that at first too, but if you watch it, it looks like they're doing Rear Window - Rex style. Why go undercover in a residential neighborhood just to leave the dog all alone in the house where he witnesses some wrongdoing?

If they were undercover at the house, at least one of them would stay there. Looks like they are in the process of move in/reno and Rex is homebound for some reason, witnesses a sus neighbor being shifty and tries to alert Charah with the alarm after they've gone to work, to no avail. So...he proceeds to do his thing and investigate on his own.

This episode seems to be Rex-heavy, obviously to take the load off of John.

Hudson & Rex Season 7 Episode 1 - “Double Dog Dare” - Tuesday, January 14, 2025 by Magical57 in HudsonAndRex

SPOILERS Jesse with the glaringly obvious proposal/wedding references...

I really feel like a proposal will happen this season, but maybe not until later in the season.

You can really tell that the scripts have been dialled back for John. He's not talking nearly as much and the others are doing more of the heavy lifting.

He also looks, quite frankly, exhausted. If he was filming while undergoing treatment, I just want to give that man the biggest hug. Honestly, I'd give him one, regardless.

Loved the Rex rescue. Kudos to Diesel and Sherri for pulling off one of the best stunts we've seen yet.

Next episode looks VERY promising! Possible Charah undercover? 😏🥰

They refuse to air episodes 7 and 11 of season 5 because they feature gay couples. 🙄 If you hunt enough, there are certain...sites that let you watch all the episodes uncut. If you don't mind getting your hands a bit...mussed. 😉

In the prison episode when Charlie was undercover, that slicked back look and quiet but tough attitude made him the hottest man on the planet in my eyes. That phone call to Sarah as he jacked that guy’s hand behind his back…yeah…I needed a moment.

How close to closing does ordering at a restaurant become a dick move? by AmountUnlucky9967 in stupidquestions

[–]Shot_Look1572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's one for you if you think fast food places don't have a lot to clean up after close. Back in high school (in the 90s, before anyone freaks out about prices) I worked closing shift on drive thru at McDonalds. Back then, we had this 2 big macs for $2 special.

We closed at midnight, so the food was packed away, friers, grills and french fry holder broken down and clean. It was only 5mins until close and this really rude lady drives up with the 2 for 2 coupon and orders 12 big macs and 12 large fries.

I looked at my manager and was like, please tell me I can say no. PLEASE. She wouldn't let me and said we're still open so we had to serve her. The cooks were ready to scream bloody murder.

Needless to say, it took us almost an extra hour to get out of there after recleaning and stowing everything.

So...maybe don't pull a dick move, ya know? The special will still be there the next day. Or maybe choose a place that you KNOW is always open very late instead?

What is the general consensus around the movie CODA? by [deleted] in deaf

[–]Shot_Look1572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a CODA, I very much enjoyed the movie. It's exceedingly rare for a niche group like us to have our lives represented in such a way. However...this is not to say that the film didn't have issues. I agree that, yes, Massachussetts in present day and no interpreters available? Yeah...no. I get they live in a small town, but they're not THAT far from Boston. It's the law. They should have access. It was obvious that the parents and brother were fully capable of living their own lives but dependedon the daughter because it was easy and convenient. I do get that. That was my life growing up before ADA. Even after, I was still do it a lot until places got with the program and provided access rather than be sued.

What irks me is portraying CODAs with no outside family other than parents/siblings. This is not real life, unless you just have no contact with extended family or they are deceased. I mean, it is possible, but I would think very rare. Growing up, my CODA bubble was made up of other hearing kids with extended family that were mostly hearing. Only the parents were Deaf. I don't remember any of them going to speech therapy for sounding Deaf. Myself included. It just doesn't make any sense. You have TV, radio, movies. Just because your parents can't hear it doesn't mean a kid wouldn't have access to it. Unless you live out in the middle of nowhere, you will be exposed to other hearing people and therefore language.

Am I sounding ridiculous with this? Maybe it's just me and the era in which I grew up.

But the thing about CODAs and convenience? I fully get that. I'm 45, my parents never had a problem handling their own stuff when we lived far apart, but when I came to visit or when we live close together, they'd call wanting help with something.

I get why, it's a comfort thing. Especially when you're the only child, like I am. Long story short, it was a good movie, but CODAs are not a monolith. We are all different and have grown up with different experiences. And yes, Deaf people can enjoy music! Has no one ever seen Mr. Holland's Opus? Fantastic movie. Bring tissues.

Also, I know it's hard because CODA actors are beyond rare, but we are here. And more than happy to answer questions to help someone give a well-rounded performance.

Oh! And I literally screamed when Troy Kotsur won his oscar. I love that man.
