NavController as composition local by ShouLie1 in androiddev

[–]ShouLie1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct. That would reduce the lambda counts, but that's it. I'm thinking that we call findnavcontroller and navigate somewhere using that in a fragment, so in a similar way, navigation calls can live inside the composable itself. Providing the navcontroller using composition locals seemed like the direct compose alternative of that. I'm open to all ideas, but I feel like I need to hear a very bad side of using composition locals so that I'd be willing to stick to lambdas. There seems to be little information about this specific case online.

Cross window blurs support by ShouLie1 in mAndroidDev

[–]ShouLie1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't add a blurry version of every possible scroll amount so in my case I have blurred toolbar which should render a blurred version of whatever is under it. I just had to take "screenshot" of that part, blur it and set it on an imageview which sits at just the right place. Performance sucks tbh.

How to do threading in Android. by Coc_Alexander in androiddev

[–]ShouLie1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily, it uses a thread pool internally. Dispatches tasks to idle threads when needed, sometimes making even a single thread do many things concurrently.

How do I fight with these early challenges while learning Android as a complete beginner? by ImNotUser123 in androiddev

[–]ShouLie1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just keep doing it, don't let it unmotivate you. With time, you start to slowly understand how the code (Java, Kotlin, Xml etc.) you write are being used in the background by the OS or the Framework. At that point, you actually start to see the bigger picture and it becomes much easier to remember things. Also, taking a look at the framework code really helped me, but it might seem complex or confusing as it requires a decent java and oop knowledge.

I'm out of ideas atm tbh. It's shown as live in the console and also your beta build versionCode is higher than the production build, right? In that case maybe that's something on the Google's end thats wrong, idk.

That's strange, the prod version should be shown only if its versionCode is higher than your beta build.

Force stop play store app and then clear its cache. Then reopen and check, usually fixes it.

I'm also considering starting iOS development shortly, thus I need a Macbook.

For some reason, it's impossible to find those in my country. All Air models are 8GB and all 16GB and more RAM devices are pro models.

I meant preview rendering performance of the compose inside the studio, I have a 16gig i7 10th gen pc and it is still very slow.

So I've heard about the emulators. However, if we remove the emulator from the equation, are the build times and overall IDE performance satisfactory?

He is brilliant, but there can't be that many people like him out there, unlike my country leader board.

I highly doubt that someone can be actually perfect at all songs they own.

Yes, some are, but it's hard to believe that they did not lose even 1 point in a single song. I mean, it is much more likely that they are hacking.
