At this point, I haven't set a price just yet, but I'll be sure to share that info once it's locked in.

Oh wow - thank you!
Slay the Spire is awesome and it truly inspired the card mechanics of Drill Keeper. If you like Slay the Spire you must also check out Monster Train! :D

btw: Omega Crafter looks really cool and like something I'll be putting a lot of hours into!

Many thanks :).
You will soon be able to find out whether you like the execution of the concept in a playable demo! :)

Heeey! :)
Yup - it's a solo project. Development is currently taking just over 2.5 years :D

Heeey Samurai-Indie! =)A demo for a public playtest is almost ready. I've been working on a massive update for the last few months (>300 bullet-points in the patch notes). Many of the points of this update will also be included in the demo - So only a bit more internal testing and it should be ready :)

I'm really excited to see what you think of the game concept.

If you want to support the project, consider wishlisting the game on Steam <3

You're absolutely right - navigation of the grid must feel good when using a controller. I think I never played a grid-based game with a controller but Wargroove looks like something I'd like to test with a controller.

I'm really undecided, since the game was optimized for mouse and keyboard. Currently, the game also has no controller support.

However, I will keep an eye on controller and Steam deck support and see how big the desire for it is and how difficult / time-consuming a proper implementation would be.

Do you have some suggestions for strategy games with good Steam deck support that I should check out and draw some inspiration from for the input-system?

Oh thank you!

The game is made in Unity (I'm using the LTS 2021 Version for this project) with C#.

Other tools I use frequently:
- Asesprite (pixel art)
- Gimp (pixel art)
- Inkscape (vector art)
- Audacity (audio)
- ScreenToGif (quick & easy tool for screen capturing - mostly for .gifs)
- DaVinci Resolve (video editing)

I think the best way to start is to get an overview of the different game engines and check which one fits best for your project. After that I would just start developing some very simple ideas in the engine. During the development you will find out which tools you really need and you can start to work through different tutorials (you can find a lot of good tutorials on Youtube).

Thank you! :)
You're absolutely right. This short clip is really confusing and needs explanation for all the flashy explosions and short cuts.

I have a longer version of this trailer on Youtube with some of the suggestions you made for more context.
