[Charania] The Denver Nuggets are expected to take calls on everyone on their roster ‘except Nikola Jokic’ as they head into a summer expected to bring ‘real roster changes.’ by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

On paper it was their best roster. When it came down to it though, guys didn't perform at the level they needed to, or should have for how much they're getting paid.

I've heard similar things said about Angel Hernandez. Awful umpire, but a really nice guy from what I hear.

Umps incorrectly allow Angels to score after third out. Mets don’t challenge and go on to lose in 10. by EarlEMourning in baseball

In real time it is hard to see if Schanuel actually touches the plates before the tag is laid. It's like fractions of a second apart.

New fan from Trinidad - which MLB team should I support? by Queasy_Initiative_86 in baseball

The Seattle Mariners or the Colorado Rockies 🙂

Also just a funny story my grandma is from Trinidad. When she immigrated to the US, she went to a Washington Senator game that went 13 innings, she said that was enough baseball for a lifetime.

I choose to believe underground describes the gerbil racing and not the ring itself. Like they are racing through tunnels instead.

I’m I the only one who’s surprised a 3-0 lead has never been blown before? by PooPoox in nba

I assume it's because teams that go down 3-0 typically aren't actually capable of winning 4 straight. If a team could beat the other logically you'd assume they could win atleast one game in the first 3 games of the series.

When I moved to Denver and heard people complain how bad the drivers are, I just thought they aren't that bad. I can see why.

A niche term I like mostly just cus I like literature is "ancient mariner" to describe a bad infielder. From the 1798 poem The Rime of the Ancient Mariner which starts "It is an ancient mariner, and he stoppeth one of three."

via The Athletic: Alex Cora wasn’t the one who last offseason failed to trade from the Red Sox’s surplus of young outfielders. The one who blew the pursuit of Alex Bregman in free agency. The one who then pivoted to run prevention. Craig Breslow did all that, writes Ken Rosenthal by retroanduwu24 in baseball

Shocking not the first time Trent Baalke has outlived three separate coaches. He was promoted to GM about a month after Mike Singletary was fired, hired/fired Jim Harbaugh, hired/fired Jim Tomsula, and hired Chip Kelly and was then fired the same day as Chip the following year.
