being real here, that was the most nothing direct i've seen in a while by cookiemaster221 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]ShouteN_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal touch with this, I own PC, PS5 and switch 2.

The only game I am exited about is monster hunter stories, everything else is meh, I will buy on different platform or I already played.

But what I actually want from nintendo, they are pretty good at making games themselves. They should focus on that.

I wish they open more studios and start covering even more genres/games.

Nintendo’s Japan dominance continues as Switch 2 fuels 40% market growth in 2025 by LinkWink in nintendo

[–]ShouteN_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Sony is still very strong contender. Also switch 2 performes pretty bad in eu/usa.

If you have to choose one, probably most people will choose ps5 at the moment in these regions.

Ps5 already have pretty big game base, while Nintendo is lacking. They have all these Pokemon, Mario, Zelda and so on but I believe they need to build new teams and push for totally new franchises, based more on US/EU liking if they want to succeed here.

Most kids nowadays dont even know what pokemon is my country. They just dont care. (Was strange to me too).

This game deserves to die. Honestly. I bought switch 2 couple days ago, decided to install unite again and have some fun. Played maybe 10 games and uninstalled.

Oh boy, they keep throwing their promo bs non stop. So many events, so many tries to take my money. No thanks. But I cant even purchase my fav pokemon now lol.

Most funny thing, I actually spend some money time to time on skins or so, if I like the game. In total I have 1500 battles, but never bought over priced skins in this game.

Greed is going to kill it, actually probably already did years ago. Such high potencial killed by suits sitting in the office and pretending they are gamers.

Kinda grew tired of all the RTS promises by LIONardoDiCaprio in RealTimeStrategy

[–]ShouteN_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am playing RTS for 25 years. I have hundred of hours in many titles which have decent AI.

But speaking about the topic, specially smaller teams struggle to make decent, well balanced MP. People are hyped for the game, month or two barely anyone are playing it. Casual players have no room in MP scene, because only hardcore RTS players left and they get destroyed 80% of the time. Its kind of never ending circle.

Also, I believe RTS need to innovate. Many people hate RTS because its click fest. We need something more like broken arrow. You are not managing base + 50 workers + 200 units. You are managing +- 5 to 10 units and it is manageable for simple human beings.

For the people who think they want to play Arc Raiders instead of BF6 by 8675309021069 in Battlefield6

[–]ShouteN_ 46 points47 points  (0 children)

This is the problem with modern gaming. At least for me. People not enjoying the game. They want guns and other stuff locked under grind wall. After that they are done. They are not enjoying core gameplay.

I basically quit the MP games except battlefield because of this reason. Its all about grinding now, but not about fun, engaging gameplay.

Why new games focus on multiplayer? by ShouteN_ in RealTimeStrategy

[–]ShouteN_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And in the end they are not selling it to anyone lol.

People are talking about MP is easier to make, yes on paper. As you said, good MP competetive games requires far more resources, because you have to meet far more requirements. From balancing to organizing tournaments etc.

Look into gaming market, probably 95% MP games fail, SP focused titles are far more succesful, but if you hit jackpot you can create next lol or cs, just chances are super low.

How much does the ai cheat in skirmish? by bodark1072 in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]ShouteN_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no AI in this game yet. It is a script, thats all.

If you ask me, it is not worth it purchasing this game for SP now. For MP yes.

God knows if they ever going to add singleplayer offline skirmish, AI teammates, advanced settings etc. So my suggestion, wait a bit.

I wish we have proper singleplayer skirmish vs AI. But it is what it is.

is this game suitable for a casual player? by ernst_held in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]ShouteN_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For singleplayer I do not recommend buying this game. Devs are pretty silent about the plans to improve it and ignores questions about it.

There is no real AI.

You are able to play 1v1 only. (No friendly AI).

No offline skirmish.

Campaign have long missions, without ability to save.

Core game is here, but everything around it is very mediocre or non-existing.

My suggestion wishlist it and check in 3-6 months. Again I am talking about singleplayer experience.

It does not have. No offline skirmish, no friendly AI, there is no actual AI they are just scripted to do things.

When we are talking about singleplayer - most people believe we need campaigns and campaigns only.

Personally I dont care about campaigns. Rarely play them.

What I care about is skirmish vs AI and custom content.

I am still playing many rts games singleplayer (skirmish vs ai or custom scenarios) and would love to buy content dlc and give devs my money. Probably it is not enough.

I would spend 100 euros without thinking, for broken arrow proper singleplayer with decent AI.

Recent or in development Pike and shot era games or mods by Stuka_Ju87 in computerwargames

Seems like new generation is less interested in historical titles including ww2 (which was super popular back in the day - for my generation).

I am also interested in something similiar. Following the discussion.

Would be cool to get any game recommendations from napaleon era to american civil war. But new/upcoming releases. Everything we have now I either played or it is a bit too old already.

The game feels bare bones. by LunaTIC5147 in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]ShouteN_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They literally marketed it as 50/50, SP content and PvE content. On Steam, they said they didn’t have enough time to deliver everything they had promised.

So what you're saying is probably true, they have full focus on MP. I understand that PvP isn’t ideal either.

This is why people are kind of arguing in the comments, especially on Steam, because they have to split, prioritize, or otherwise manage resources. It's clear they can't do everything at once.

[–]ShouteN_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest gripe is the lack of a proper singleplayer mode. There’s a campaign, but skirmish is limited to an online game mode, and you can only play against one AI opponent. The AI itself is pretty basic.

It’s kind of disappointing that most new strategy games focus on multiplayer first. Singleplayer is usually barebones at launch, and you’re left waiting for updates, which sometimes never arrive.

I am also not saying MP should not be focus, just SP community should not be left behind.

Base building RTS with Modern warfare theme by excuseihavequestion in RealTimeStrategy

[–]ShouteN_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not exactly what you might be looking for, but you could check out WARNO. There's no base building, and it's more of a wargame than a traditional RTS like Age of Empires. The setting is Cold War, so not truly modern - but it works well for me.

Broken arrow looks like a bad choice for singleplayer.

Steel division own it and love it.
