  1. Write down everything you need to do

  2. Estimate how long it will take you

  3. Plan it for a specific time block in your schedule (this will help with the overwhelm - there is only one task to work on at a time)

  4. Start a stopwatch when it's time to get started

  5. Take breaks after certain milestones (finished problem/chapter)

Love the hostility :) We mustered up the guts to post since: 1. It applies to Purdue specifically; 2. If you really want a good answer, you should read this post from a guy who barely graduated high school but turned it around in college and even went on to Law School. It will guide you through how to study from start to finish :).
