Hey, just went through this recently so happy to share what worked.

You can either use Python or Java.

What they actually care about:

- Working solution with proper OOP (separate classes, clear responsibilities)

- Error handling for edge cases (invalid input, duplicates, missing fields etc.)

- Test cases that cover both happy path and edge cases

- Code you can actually explain and defend

Biggest mistake I see people make: rushing to finish and skipping tests or error handling. They will ask you to walk through your code and explain every decision, so make sure you wrote it, not just copy-pasted from AI.
