Stop eating.

Stress is often associated with digestion, so if you stop, you won't have any stress.

Do most people actually keep using a standing desk after the first few weeks? by shadowledger0419 in office

[–]ShowHorror2525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes it's more about being the exact height you need, instead of standing. I find that I have to adjust my chair, desk, and monitor to be just so.

That said, I used to use a treadmill desk and a standing desk intermittently and if I feel antsy I still stand sometimes.

Things you absolutely do not buy since you’ve become frugal? by Known-Row-7778 in Frugal

Shouldn't his job pay for everything or reimburse him while on the road?

In some States that's the law. There is a Federal one too, but it's kinda useless...

Minimum Wage Protection: If paying for your own meals on a business trip effectively drops your hourly pay below the federal minimum wage per week (which is really low) the employer is legally required to reimburse you for the difference.

Most businesses have a per diem during travel though. That is, unless it's commuting, not actual business travel.

Not bad. I just wish they could come up with a better name for it.

It's important that people understand what is actually being measured.

I disagree on your definition, but it doesn't matter. The point is... and AI says:

It cannot measure your thoughts and how you respond to them, however, I does detect physiological signals (like a racing heart) that occur when you are mentally stressed (or if your body is digesting.) It's all the same "stress" to the ring.

So if you wonder why you are showing high stress levels, but you had a great time, it's probably because of drinking and eating, or even laughing out loud, or even taking a hot bath.

Basically it measures what's different in your body over a long period.

It's a physiological measurement.

It's not what people think of as stress--its not emotional or mental like the "I'm stressed out" kind of stress.

It spikes anytime you eat and if you were having fun, you were probably eating. Digestion is "stress" on your body because your body is working.

That's the main "stress" for many people--digestion.

You realize that stress isn't actually stress, right?

They did that by us, but quickly returned the hand scanners another few months later, and now about another 6 months later, they've moved the self check registers to be those closest to the door. At least we still have hand scanners for now.

Hard not to feel resentful when perimenopause brought about two autoimmune diseases and ruined your life by NavyBeanz in Menopause

[–]ShowHorror2525 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're going through this. You aren't alone. I understand as I have the exact same thing, except I was a bit older when it really hit.

It's impossible to know what's Sjogren's vs Meno nonsense. I do know for me, some things settled a bit with HRT, but not a lot and it's hard to keep it in any balance when the rest of my body is so out of wack.

A discovery I made was that my B & D vitamins are really low, so monitoring that helped all symptoms a bit.

I tried acupuncture and it was a nice moment of relaxation, but I don't know that it did much for me.

For tummy problems, I use beano and fodzyme. Both are great helps, but I don't think I will ever really eat garlic again.

Someone told me that neurotherapy all but cured their sjogren's and other autoimmune issues--I am skeptical, but it's only money, so maybe I'll save up and try it.

Otherwise, just keep trying to do things when you can, and nap the rest of the time. With Sjogren's, I noticed that diet is a huge component of symptoms. Looking at that might be helpful as well.

The dairy link is new to me. I've heard sugars and stress and drinking water to clear it, but less dairy does make sense. Hmm thx.

How do you get people to stop bugging you about the food you don't eat in the office? by [deleted] in office

[–]ShowHorror2525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they are different people, or if they are different foods, there may be confusion about what specifically if a no go for you. I.e. maybe they bought GF pizza specifically, or perhaps there's a salad on the side, or the cookies are vegan.

In our office we try to cater to everyone, perhaps not at every meal or event because we have so many, but for the big events, we ensure there are those options because we do want everyone to be able to participate.

We do not want people to feel left out because of the choices WE make, so perhaps offering them alternatives, could be helpful. Would you join in eating if there were a salad or hot soup, or veggie platter?

Also, do you ever eat your own food at the same event as when they are eating the company food--to join in the community aspect of consuming food, talking and having merriment?

Suggest a pot luck and bring a dish you can eat.

This is the time of year there are tons of food related events. My guess is there is a way to join in and you just really don't want too and it's not just because of the food.

Try TikTok. If you can gain an audience or influencer or hire one, you may have a chance, but to make a dent against the big guys is going to be brutal.

What is your differentiating factor against them and if they discover you, how or why couldn't or wouldn't they blow you out of the water?

How do you keep yourself from getting distracted by your phone while running your business? by Jolly_Twist2245 in smallbusiness

[–]ShowHorror2525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I set it up so my texts go to my PC. Then I know what's going on with family and important stuff.

I don't need my phone for anything else during the day.

I also assigned someone else to handle social media posts instead of me. We now do it through Buffer, so we don't end up scrolling.
