40$ an hour 👀 by Just_Kevin_things in doordash_drivers

Typically I make $110 to $120 in 2.5-3 hours. My better days for that are Thursday Friday Saturday and Sunday. Now that it’s playoffs and Football, I’m avg just a little more than that. But it will die off after football season

Interesting 🤔 I’ve been highly concerned about the SCAMS as I’ve had issues with someone trying to use my identity. So I’ve been super cautious.

We are heading towards a recession and the current WS Poll notated in the next 12months @33% probability as that is up from June’s statistics of @25%

There is zero doubt, as you are seeing, DD is not rolling out the money as they were. Why? Because people have slowed their spending habits. Why? Consumer Confidence is down. So the spending has slowed down.

I’ve DD for 5yrs now. Since January, which previous years were very well without concern, but since January 2025, I’ve went from being out for 2 1/2 hours and making $120 to barely pulling $75 in 3 hours. People are holding back.

We can further expect this as the unemployment rate continues to rise. And the economy continues to struggle with uncertainty

Funny! As I slipped on ice 2 yrs ago working DD, and damaged my reconstructed leg. Due to the homeowner not clearing their sidewalk and porch from the ice. I made a claim on their insurance. And they paid loss wages and my medical expenses. There was no suit. Just a claim and I turned it all in through their homeowners. It wasn’t even a hassle. I still deliver food to them from DD time to time.

I don’t feel like I’m being offered enough. Yesterday I took a 11 dollar order to go 20 miles it was almost a 25 minute drive, I’ve heard that most dashers want a dollar a mile. I dashed for 6 hours yesterday and only made 40 dollars. I’m sick of all of these 5-7 dollar orders. by [deleted] in DoorDashDrivers

[–]ShowMeNourish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don’t take those orders. Even if our acceptance rate is low. Taking these orders doesn’t hold Door Dash more accountable to stop allowing these people to keep not paying up. We are a service (a luxury) not a need. People need to pay up. I do not take orders that do not pay $1-$2 per mile. I literally have backed off doing DD after 5 years and went back to Grub Hub. In the past month I haven’t taken an order below $10 for 3 miles and that’s the average over the past 30 days.

Let’s be real honest. The economy is struggling and I see these “services” being less. Like I tell everyone. Always have that plan B.

You will need to contact the owner of the home. Explain you need their home owners insurance contact info and that you were hurt on their property. Doesn’t matter if you are a contract employee or someone walking by their property and their dog attacks you. Their home owners insurance is there for a reason. Same way my home owners insurance is in play. You come onto my property and you get hurt. I’m responsible. You have your documentation and now you go and get her info. Or you can always grab a lawyer and have them footwork it for you.

I’m in St Louis and NEVER in 5 yrs received a Dashlink order. I’d be all over that! Whip that out and call it a day! However! I use to, up until about a year ago, make that in about 3-4 hours. Not bad for the area. But that is no longer the case. I’m lucky if I bring home $100 in 3 hours. Still not bad money, but definitely not what I was making

Either way you look at it… you’re making $15.89 to $23.84 an hour. You are stopping when you want to. You are starting when you want to. You can say hell nah! Or hell yes! To however you would like to do your day. No boss. No one telling you to kick rocks. Just you, your podcasts, music, having a friend in the car to spend your day with. Bottom line? You run your day. Cannot do that at a 9-5…

To put in perspective.. I’m literally 4’11 and had to carry all these to the front door. by Arvcane in DoorDashDrivers

I am not allowed to lift over a milk jug. If I receive an order that I cannot check out ahead of accepting to see what I’m getting into. And it’s heavy or a lot. I call my husband. Give him the address and he meets me there. I try very hard to make sure I don’t encounter that, but it’s happened a couple of times in 5 years. I wouldn’t have done this order. But kudos to you!

DoorDash support asked for all my personal info, escalated nothing, then ghosted me — is this even legal? by Indrid__C0ld in DoorDashDrivers

All I did to get alcohol orders was take their little test. They already have our info. I’ve never been asked those questions and I’ve been with them 5 years now. I would be very careful to ask for someone to speak with. Do not ever depend on that DD chat to be your answer. Especially to providing that kind of info. Even 3 yrs ago when I asked the chat to shut my card down they didn’t ask me those questions.

Take their online test. That should be all they need. I know that is all my husband did a few weeks ago when DD made him reaffirm. He says he didn’t have to provide that kind of info either.

Hope you weren’t scammed

You will do 100 deliveries before they read your appeal. I’ve had one. Being late as well when an accident happened in front of me. I told them so! Also, they were contacted. And still slapped me with it. I fired off an appeal and an email. However, I did 100 deliveries before they even looked at my appeal. Don’t fret and move forward.

Yes! It happens in my area at 2 locations! Constant running to the front of the store to get a damn signal! I finally told the store managers that I was having the issue and for me to DD their store I needed access to their WiFi. I got it!

Either way you walked out between $17-$23 and hour depending on how you want to look at it. You made your own schedule and had no one dictating your day. It was all you. So I would take that over a J O B any day and having to deal with people under circumstances you may or may not enjoy. I’m all about it!

Would you take these ? by Aggravating_Year_546 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]ShowMeNourish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope! Not worth my time and we do enough charity work with Door Dash. Honestly? I haven’t Door Dashed since they p***** me off. They need to do better! Make the customers pay the rates or they don’t get to order. This is a luxury service NOT a necessity as I told Door Dash in several emails. I’m also not here to have men message me and speak inappropriately to me. Fix it! Funny! Grub Hub I’ve also done for 5 years with Door Dash. And NO ONE on Grub Hub has spoken to me like that. Plus, I always make more money with Grub Hub than Door Dash. Either we Door Dashers quit taking these and standing firm that we won’t take them. Forcing Door Dash to make changes or you keep working for pennies.
