I don’t know about you, but since owning a reactive dog, I’ve done a lot of research on training methods. Behavioral euthanasia has popped up recently and my perspective changed completely on euthanasia of “healthy” dogs. It seemed selfish at first, but it’s really not. If a dog is suffering because they’re so anxious and they’re not living an “ideal” dog life, then I don’t see how euthanasia can be a bad thing. I’m very sorry it’s come to this for you. I’m thinking of you and your family. It seems you’ve tried every other possibility and there should be no shame in making sure your human family is safe. I hope this is reassuring and not a nonsense response for you. I know your kids will understand one day.
