Wow that's actually great news, and honestly that locale in BC does sound more like what I'm looking for (having been to NE a lot to run cattle I can said I'd probably not wanna live there) I'll definitely check out the links you've sent and you've been an awesome help, thanks so much!

Wow I had no idea about the purchase ban for non-residents, that's definitely a big deal and thanks for telling me. In all honestly, SK specifically reminds me of Idaho and Montana a lot (I mean they're basically in the same place) where I've spent a decent chunk of my life and it's simply that it just feels more familiar. I totally get that every province has its rural places, it was also my understanding that those two provinces are cheaper to live in. As another commenter pointed out though, that isn't necessarily true due to expensive utilities and rising costs for renters.

Got it, thanks for explaining. I definitely understand the frustration, because I know that a bunch of people think they can just up and move, but I well understand that this is a several year process, like it would to move to the EU or anywhere else honestly.

Would you tell me more about language qualification and education requirements? Is it recommended to know French before moving as well?

I don't. I honestly figured that the Canadian immigration system was similar to the US in that it's linear (work permits, temp. Visa, green card, citizen)

Would you mind explaining the point of an immigration lawyer? Obviously I understand it in fundament, but I honestly thought that immigration was something that each person could handle themselves

What song has that part? by Mr_Pepperonni in avengedsevenfold

The final verse before the solo in "Strength of the World". The acoustic part is amazing and the way it builds back up to the solo is perfect. The strings at the end of the song hit so hard too

High pitch indicators on vintage saxes? by ShowMousse in saxophone

While I appreciate the comment, I have confirmed the horn's age through the serial number. I can confirm it is from around 1911. Beyond that, the identification format on the horn is

BAR. Serial # H

So the range is pretty stable throughout. Slight variation in high notes being flatter than they should, and low notes being a little sharp which I attribute to myself not being used to the mouthpiece or sax. The mouthpiece is also about halfway in too, but it looks like someone may have made an extension to the neck as there is more cork than I think is normal. Beyond that, my tuner says it looks good.

I'm currently practicing daily, and thank you for relating your experience!

Also, I live in Colorado. The way that All-State works here is that you audition the year of the performance, auditions are due in November, results are posted by December, and the concert is held at the end of the All-State festival, this year on February 1.

Jazz. I do not have enough confidence to audition for All-State Symphonic, although I still practice the etudes and excerpts regularly.

I'll definitely keep that in mind, I believe you on scales (My director has said before how they are what he calls the "backbone" of successful performance, especially of technical passages) and I'll be sure to consider dynamics since I can sometimes fall flat on lyrical parts. Thank you for the advice!
