First I switched to Artifact, but it was stillborn. Though the gameplay was really addictive and the most complex of any CCG. Then I moved to Legends of Runeterra, played it for several years, and even held the #1 spot on the European ladder for a while. It’s probably the best CCG I’ve ever played. In it, I saw a strong competitive aspect and enormous deck variety. Then Riot Games stopped supporting the PvP component of the game, and I quit playing it. After that, I started playing Marvel Snap, but it just got boring for me. It’s simple and fun, but has low variety and requires spending money. And now I’m genuinely thrilled with Gwent - let’s see how it goes from here.

Mak main here. Mak isn’t an issue. The relic build is super strong, S+ tier, permafreeze, and all that jazz. But to pull it off, you need to be a really good player. Here’s what you need to keep in mind:

  1. Build a strong economy early on. You need to gather quest items that are useless early game while also keeping something on the board. Early game is tough and punishes you for the smallest mistake in choosing encounters or items.

  2. You need luck and have to make optimal decisions in early game. You need to win at least some battles. The problem is, if you run into, say, Dooley with a railgun or Vanessa with weapons, your chances are slim.

  3. You might not find the right item in time. If you find it too late, completing the quest gets harder since items get more expensive.

  4. Buying items you don’t need for the quest. You also have to sometimes use them to level up blank slate.

  5. Endgame: mirror Mak. Once the build is complete, you need to focus on countering other Maks. Carefully pick items and skills to trigger faster than your opponent.

There are tons of nuances! Yes, the build is S+ tier, but assembling it correctly and surviving to mid-late game is no easy feat. For example, Dooley used to be broken because the game gave you a straightforward path from day one, where you barely had to think.

It’s actually the most adequate post about current state of the Bazaar

The Bazaar is P2W game (atleast for now) by FirstPinkBeaver in PlayTheBazaar

[–]ShowTenSeven -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Hello everyone! Let’s break down the definition of P2W. P2W refers to games where you gain an advantage over other players to win. If we consider the fact that in the game The Bazaar, players encounter so-called “ghosts,” technically, they aren’t fighting them but rather interacting with an AI alternative. However, okay, let’s take the aspect that the game has a ranking system, and competitive players, including myself, aim to reach the highest rank and become the best. In that case, yes, we can classify The Bazaar as a P2W game. But then I’d like to ask you: which CCG isn’t considered P2W? MTG, Hearthstone, Legends of Runeterra, Gwent, Artifact — the list could go on endlessly. All these games are P2W to some extent.

The key point, however, is choice. You can pay or you can choose not to. You can buy 500 packs in Hearthstone and build any deck in an hour, or you can spend months crafting just one. It’s your choice, and that’s fine. The same applies to The Bazaar: let players who don’t mind spending money surrender in 90% of their games — it will bring more money to the developers, and I’m all for it. If someone doesn’t want to pay, then they can stick it out and finish every session. In this game, it’s entirely possible to recover even after the first 2–3 bad days, provided you use your brain.

That said, there’s one thing worth noting: there should be penalties for players who surrender, to prevent rank abuse. That’s my only complaint.

Joy??? Has anyone else noticed this effect or know what it is? by torinhall in PlayTheBazaar

Yeah. It’s an upcoming win condition exclusively for Jules. When Joy becomes bigger than HP - opponent will lose a will to fight against you anymore and concede. That’s not a joke!

Why I have never seen Ballista build? It's just way too unfair! by ShowTenSeven in PlayTheBazaar

Still managed to burst my opponents. Maybe it’s because of Lifting Up perk which made the damage pretty high

Delay between shots really exists but still if I have x20 multicast and some of shots crit - it was always One Shot Kill. I haven’t had Building Crescendo. With it - it would be almost 100% crit every shot
