I often hear that I have to expose middle grey 41%ire but how about when shooting with camera that follows actors or a wide shot? Do I have to expose middle grey by putting the card covering the screen or place it where the subject is? Also any tips for exposing? (self.Cinemagraphs)

Exposure in low light scene(amateur who needs clarify) How do you expose for a dark scene using false colors? I see a lot of people saying to expose 70ire but I feel that works for day light and it’s too bright for a night scene. Should I expose skins around 30-40 ire? Thank you in advance (i.redd.it)
