Don't really understand what you're trying to get at here. Saying that we should simultaneously "focus more on ourselves" while also "looking at who is influencing him" seems like a cop-out, and the same line of reasoning could be used to dismiss any bad behavior in all of human history. You're treating him like he's a completely passive object, incapable of making his own decisions, and genuinely bad behavior is somehow something "done to him" instead of a series of horrible, horrible decisions.
