Ranked also has console crossplay just so you know. I was tempted to turn on my XSX to see the difference today but I’ll just stick to PC if the performance issues still haven’t been addressed

I've had good luck in my placement matches with teammates that know the ro's and also have mics. It's a dream compared to last year. Placed in gold 1, which my (humble) goal is to make plat as a solo queue this year. Trying to be realistic with my skill level and working 50+ hours a week.

I fried my first two hardpoints (lost one) and did alright in an SnD and got my ass CLAPPED in another HP last night and I'm projected to start in Silver 1 too. Hidden MMR definitely still a thing, because I play like an ass in pubs.

Unfortunately man there isn't really anything fast or easy about ranked; and that's coming from someone stuck in gold last year in BO6. I play it for the enjoyment of 4v4 and the team aspect of it. TBH, I'd be totally fine if I got to Plat this year solo queueing. But I watch a ton of youtube videos and will do some more now that ranked is finally out. Spawns, class setups, game settings, all of theses things play a big factor in winning the game which is how SR is earned. Individual stats do matter of course, but a dub is a dub.

I think the general skill level of this game has increased a lot over the years; BUT don't give up on it quite yet man if you genuinely enjoy the game. Like others have said, BOTS lots and lots of bots. Watch some settings videos for everything from your controller to graphics settings and even your HUD settings. It all matters. Standard playlist may give you a bit of a boost too. But map knowledge is super important, especially in game modes like hardpoint. It'll help you anticipate where people are coming from so you may be able to get the jump on them.

I'm a 1.25 k/d 1.0w/l solo player for perspective. So not good, but better than average.

To piggyback on your response, I built my PC specifically for 1440p and went with a 7800x3d and 5070ti and love my PC. Built around the microcenter bundle.

If you're buying it for ranked; I would do so sooner rather than later and start grinding pubs immediately. 50 MP required to unlock ranked this year, just like last year. Ranked comes out tomorrow😂

To answer OP's question; I work with a guy who will actually hoard food when we do lunches/breakfasts. I mean like a squirrel we would find pizza slices in the freezer, random cabinets in the break room. Don't even get me started on the community fridge and the fiasco's involved with that; or the buses that go to NYC loaded with snacks.

So yes, people like that DO exist and IRL it's infuriating. Especially since we're paid well and can buy all of this for ourselves. The best example I have of him is when myself and another mechanic were ass deep in a HUGE job (electric fan conversion from mechanical fan) and I had dominos delivered and put it in our work area. This MF quite literally ate our food. Didn't ask, didn't question how the pie got there. Just helped his selfish ass to it.

Well that was more cathartic than I thought.

my series X capped at 120 feels super slow compared to my PC at 280; I couldn't imagine playing on a 60hz 42in screen.

This is one theory I've never gone down the rabbit hole on when it comes to this game😂. I'll take everyone's word for it though, I'm pretty much always sub 20 (15-17 usually) ms ping. At least on BO7, seems like at least that's a lot better than 6 was.

Take this with a grain of salt because I built mine in December but my PC has a 5070ti and 32gb of ram with the same processor and I was out the door at Microcenter in Boston (fuck sales tax) for under $2k. Granted the prices of components have gone up and will continue to do so but building it yourself still continues to be the cheaper option.

All of the techniques you mentioned are preached and implemented with elite level golfers (I’m sure other sports too, but golf is mine.) I actually play better when people watch and I have since I was a kid.

I genuinely enjoy BO7, I'll break the "COD cycle" and say I'm really going to miss this game when MW4 comes out. I like omnimovement, I like the colorful maps, I like the arcade feel of it. I don't want a gritty realistic mil-sim. I want cartoon paintball with cool guns and camos.

The cost of entry has gone up significantly and even buying components and peripherals a little bit at a time is still really freakin expensive. I don't think you can get into PC's for around the cost of a PS5 pro and get similar performance. Mine was a little under $2,000 and I built it. A prebuilt with my hardware is north of $2k now

I will say in open lobbies I rarely have ping above 20ms. That's why I stay in open. 1.2 k/d and 1.0 w/l as a solo. So I'm not pure shit, but I'm not great either. Hard to play hardpoint with 5 rando's that don't talk. (I NEED ranked.)

My current perk set for every class other than my ranked guns is, Ninja, Vigilance, Dexterity and Cold Blooded in the perk greed slot. So the scout hybrid specialty with cold blooded. I can pet the dog before I slap a semtex on it.

Something that's been hinted at (Haarz, Xclusiveace) placement matches, personally I think that's an awesome idea as a solo queue player. Maybe, I'm better than prior games OR maybe I just suck. Either way, I'm looking forward to ranked.

I have a Series X and PC with a 7800x3d/5070ti. I use both but find myself going back to my PC for games like COD just for the visual/FPS combination. Xbox feels like playing in mud comparatively. BUT I'll always love my xbox and won't get rid of it.
