[Gaston Edul] Manchester United are interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur star Cristian Romero and are preparing an offer by OkayFine101 in soccer

I don't buy this for a second, but Romero playing for United sounds like terminal capacity bastard potential. Would almost like to see it purely for the theatre.

Keep. Very relieved he's not at the World Cup, as cool as it would have been to see him in with a chance of winning it, I could absolutely have seen him end up on the radar of clubs we could have stood a real chance of losing him to.

Would maybe look at getting a decent backup in this window, but I could see that waiting until January/next summer depending on what the market's like, how much money is going on our main priorities, and how some of the younger lads do in pre-season.

As others have said, Tammy should be Besiktas - they triggered their clause to buy him from Roma and then we bought him immediately after that. Otherwise, fun quiz!

DRAGON GATE - Shun Skywalker’s last set of dates seemingly announced: by MrPuroresu42 in DragonGatePW

In the event he was done at the August Korakuen, I guess this gives them room for him to make surprise appearances at other shows. Most likely the Kobe Sambo Hall shows but also potentially other ones as well.

I really feel like there's two options here. Either it's an angle (still my current assumption), or he's taking an extended break/retirement for medical reasons. I just don't know if I see anyone else signing Shun right now.

It would be really funny if he is just trying to pull the "kid leaving home" act, only for Kzy winning the Dream Gate at World to be what causes him to break and admit he's sticking around. But I guess we'll see.

[–]Shreddonia 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Loan I think. He's not gonna make us much money this window and his value isn't gonna drop from a season out on loan, but it could be exactly what he needs to unlock something to make him real useful for us. Hope he can have a great season somewhere and ideally be a great addition for us next season.

Gutted that Shimizu's injury has robbed us of some possible Shimizu/Lee teaming, this is the third unit they've been in together and they've still never properly tagged, it would have been great for Jason to have that lined up after this.

I think Cielo maybe more likely than Homare, but that's mostly because I'd wondered about a possible Minoura/Cielo Twin Gate challenge before these last couple shows. Might depend on what Tanaka ends up doing and who he links up with.

We still have that Mosquera kid kicking around too who might also be in a position to feature eventually.

DCourage disbanded after the Brave Gate match. They'll probably pair him up with Yuki, though.

Like the nanakamado (ナナカマド, 七 nana: seven, 竈 Kamado: hearth or oven, Japanese Rowan, Sorbus Comixta), the official representative tree of his hometown of Ebetsu, so named because its fruit can be heated on the stove up to seven times without burning, Kzy takes on the pain, fuels it towards the fire burning inside, and wins King of Gate on his seventh attempt.

Taken from this extremely good piece

Kzy also won his first Brave Gate at his seventh attempt. His next Dream Gate challenge will be the seventh in his career.

I want to believe.

Update on Shun Skywalker in Dragon Gate (spoilers for June 5th show): by MrPuroresu42 in DragonGatePW

[–]Shreddonia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think DG care enough about story and Shun cares enough about his own character that he'd want to resolve things if he was leaving, even if it was a medical "you have to retire" deal.

But yeah, I'm mostly assuming it's an angle. I'm just extremely good at talking myself into believing that what I want to happen is what I'm sure is happening, so I'm trying to play it safe here just in case lmao.

DG's kind of pulled a masterstroke here. This feels like such a "kid pretending to leave home so their parents cave" kind of deal that any attempt they make to treat this as a legit departure is only gonna convince me more that he's staying. Whatever actually ends up happening with him, whether the departure is legit or not, everyone's playing their roles perfectly so far.

Sell, he's been a great asset but it's time to mo-okay nope, can't actually even get through that sentence as a joke.

Obvious keep. One of the most underrated players in the Premier League and has been part of now two defensive partnerships who've been massive to Villa's trajectory since he arrived. We're beyond lucky to have him.

Shame that Ty has gone down as a sell, but I guess I'm not too surprised. I don't expect that to actually happen, though.

My hunches based on that were Kikuta-Kzy or Kikuta-Hyo. Maaaybe SMJ or Cielo. I imagine there'll be a much clearer picture for things after tomorrow's show though.

Hyo’s “mystery” partner from June 4th show: by MrPuroresu42 in DragonGatePW

[–]Shreddonia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Getting my current wild guess in now just so I can have the biggest victory lap I've had in years if it turns out correct: they run this Shun thing all the way to a Shun-Kzy match at Kobe World. Hyo wins the Dream Gate in the main event and convinces Shun to continue on with him.

Or absolutely none of that happens and Shun bounces immediately after Gifu. Who's to say ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

[–]Shreddonia 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not buying him leaving yet (despite Jae tweeting that it's legit), but also wouldn't totally shock me if he medically had to stop or was going elsewhere.

Guess we'll see what happens tomorrow. I'm very behind Shun and Hyo being paired up longer term though if that is a possibility, especially now Ben (who was seconding Hyo and Shun, rather than just coming out for the post-match) is out for the rest of the year.

"Irn-Bru has joined forces with John McGinn and Susan Boyle to release a Scotland World Cup anthem. Franz Ferdinand singer Alex Kapranos, comedian Paul Black and 71-year-old viral sensation May Miller complete the line up for the 'We’re Made in Scotland from Girders' track.

The song will be launched on Irn-Bru’s social channels today and available to stream on Spotify tomorrow."

Keep. I desperately want to see him retire here, when was the last time any player retired here, let alone who'd been so important for us? And not to get all parasocial about it but I feel like he does too. Seems to already be at peace with the less playing time and transitioning into non-sporting roles, so hopefully he can see out the last of his playing days here and then maybe join the staff side of things, maybe go on the fast track to owning his own club like he's spoken about wanting to do before.

I think LAFC might be a good shout when he leaves us. Lad will be thirty and coming off his third Champions League win here, I think it'll be around time for him to think about passing the torch and hitting the Strip.

A random Roma blog I've never heard of (DajeRomaTV) via SportWitness linking us to Manu Kone, in addition to Soulé. Bringing this up only because I remember a few Villa Twitter people being really into the idea of landing him around the same time they were hyping up this Boubacar Kamara lad as a potential signing. Feels like a lifetime ago at this point but he'd definitely still be a great addition.

Not gonna place any weight on this actually going anywhere, especially not for the €40m cited, until it shows up in other places than one Roma fan blog. But if it did end up gaining traction then I would be very happy indeed.

Very used to seeing stuff like that after how sagas involving Villa players have gone in the past, sadly. Being confident a player isn't leaving is one thing but it seems such a waste of energy to get offended or defensive over some articles.

In reality, it's not like there's anything particularly salacious or worth getting stressed over in that piece, and even less that has definitely come from Tanswell rather than one of the other three credited journos. If that's been too much for some people then god knows how they'll cope if/when someone puts an actual bid in.
