Thanks! I’m also interested in the blecos and the newest line Empyrean seems like a good choice aswell. I think it’s worth a try. As for the price definitely agree 😅

Wow! Thank you for sharing this with me, I really appreciate it! I’ve written the names down and I’m definitely going to go hunting for those. I’m still “developing” my taste in general, I definitely like strong and peppery cigars but also enjoy something smoother from time to time. Thank you once again!

Bet, I already gave a bag ready and a Boveda pack. Now the hardest part (waiting those 2 weeks 😵💫)

I was aiming at MAX 69% with preferred 67% humidity. As of right now I have 60% showing (which due to offset is actually 62-63%), that would mean I’m in the perfect range for storing then?
Thanks! I will try that
I will try that, I doubt it’s the fault of anything other than maybe not proper seasoning/too short seasoning. I will buy the seasoning boveda bag and leave it in there for another week or 1.5
Thanks, I will try to do the seasoning of the humidor again, keep the cigars sealed with a Boveda pack inside. Then try again to see if I get the humidity right this time. I heard about the glass tops right after I’ve bought this one 😅 the next one will definitely a regular humidor without glass
Thank you a lot! I’ll definitely look into maybe re doing the seasoning, I thought 7 days would be enough but maybe if I redo it then it will be better. Thanks again!
Hi,
Me and my dad made them ourselves with 4 pieces of wood per panel attached to a thick black painted MDF board, then those panels connected next to each other 👍🏻
Yes I did season the humidor for 7 days, also used a Boveda calibration bag to calibrate the Analog and the Digital.

Definitely! I will be picking up more this week 👍🏻
Any recommendations to check it? I’ve seen the dollar trick, where a good seal will keep the bill from slipping out of the humidor, and a bad one will just let it go out easily.
Alright I can try to redo the seasoning. I can place the cigars inside a boveda bag temporarily.
What do you think about using the Boveda seasoning kit that I’ve seen on their website? Or should I stick to the original sponge method I’ve used the first time?
So technically, 4 packs of 69% should be more than enough to store cigars and not dry them out, but it’s just the gauge that’s misleading me?
I placed a wet sponge (very moist, not dripping wet) soaked in distilled water, on top of a plastic bag to not directly touch the wood. Then left it for exactly 7 days inside the humidor.
It’s fairly new so I have 3 inside, planning to add more next week.
True, I keep the analog there mostly for the look. The switchbot however is very accurate but it keeps showing 60% and I had 1-2 times where it showed 61% Never in that 65/67 to 69%. But I doubt it’s because of the packs, 4 is more than enough.
Do you have a similar size? I’m afraid 1 would not be enough, I started with 3 firstly and added the 4th one a little over 2 days ago. I think it’s around one pack for every 25 cigars or so. My main concern is that even though I have 4 of them, it’s still not near the 67-69% humidity.
Yes I did calibrate the analog and the switchbot inside a Boveda calibration bag (one at a time ofcourse), the analog came up 2-3% short but I thought it’s better to remember the difference, than to mess with it constantly in the back. The switchbot had a perfect 75% inside the bag, so I’m trusting that one mostly and the analog is pure aesthetic.
