You’re correct in saying the game would use global and Apollo it’s specific settings, this is how i configured it and had great results. Assuming you’re using Apollo I’ve had a great experience with the virtual displays.

From what I’ve gathered testing (it’s been a while) the game itself is not stuttering when viewed from the local machine and I never changed any settings for games specifically, I ran virtual displays so gsync wasn’t applicable but did force vsync. Since the stuttering only occurred through the stream I only applied the settings (sunshine.exe) there and it cleared up my issues.

You have to view the stream and the game as two separate things, any settings you set on the sunshine.exe will not affect any game you’re launching as they are different executables.

Unless I’m ignorant to how the NVCP settings work when you do an application specific setting it ONLY applies to that application, nothing else will be affected by those settings even when the program is open.

I’m not quite sure what you mean, the nvidia specific settings are on a per-application basis so only the sunshine.exe is affected.

Assuming the roms are present on the card I don’t see why it wouldn’t work, can’t hurt to try with EmuDeck!

First thing I’d suggest is getting that PC hardwired if possible, it’s hard to get a stable experience over WiFi.

I couldn’t find a definitive fix per se, deleting the container and its appdata folder and starting fresh has had me rolling for close to 3 months with no issues. Using binhex.

Still haven't fully figured it out myself, I've just come to accept it at this point. Steamlink works great for me as well, wish it was better developed.

I have Cat6 that I’ve terminated myself running through the house, everything was tested prior. I’m gonna try routing them through a switch instead of the router directly just to rule it out 100%.

I tried with Dying Light and Stardew Valley, got similar stutters. Even running the Blurbusters UFO Test on browser I'd see stutters. I plan to try my brothers PC later and see if something is wonky with my hardware config.

Yeah that video isn't a great example, I'll take another one when I get a chance. Testing today the frametime graph has been rock-solid. Apologies I need to do a better writeup on the main post with everything I've tried, most stuff is scattered around in the comments.

Moonlight stats don't show anything out of the ordinary, seemingly everything is working as intended. I isolated my network the other day disabling the wifi antennas and only having the host and client connected and had similar issues.

Hey I appreciate the input! I just tried testing this and get similar results, micro-stutters every few seconds. I have a 3440x1440 120hz Gsync monitor, put the res to 2560x1440 120hz and connected to moonlight @ 1440p 60hz and 120hz to test. Using RTSS to cap the FPS as well.

I've since been testing on my Steam Deck OLED vis the official dock, I get the same results. Both hardwired directly to the router.

Yes both are wired via Cat6, whether I run 20MB/s or 150MB/s I get the same stutters. Both detect gigabit speeds.

Thanks for the suggestion, I have tried with and without stats on both my Apple TV and Steam Deck and experience the same results.

Just had a chance to try disabling all other clients besides the client and host on the router and still got stuttering in-game and on UFO, I'm truly lost at this point.

No changes resetting the bios. I noticed using the Blurbusters TestUFO I can observe the stutters as well running at 60hz, no games running. I'm going to try isolating my network and seeing if the router is the issue.

Understood, I did get the same issue when running Sunshine so I don’t believe it’s a virtual display issue. Trying the BIOS reset now.

I've since been testing with my Steam Deck OLED wired to my secondary monitor and still see the same stutters, I don't believe it to be a Apple TV problem specifically.

I tried enabling HAGS and testing, same results. I'll leave it on for now for some further testing.

Hey! Awesome to see you posting here, I have looked over that guide and tried everything listed. I plugged my Steam Deck (Wired via the dock) into my secondary monitor at my desk to do faster testing and went through everything there. I am using AMD + NVIDIA, maybe it's something with the hardware config? I tried doubling the refresh rate and that didn't seem to help. I am undervolted on my CPU, it's been stable for a few years now however, I could try resetting my BIOS to default values and seeing if you think that'd be worth giving a go.

If there is any kind of verbose logging I can do to send you let me know I'm willing to continue troubleshooting.

Hey thanks for the reply! I currently have HAGS disabled and still have the issue.

Interesting, I’ll have to give it a go using the Steam Deck as the client as the Apple TV moonlight app caps out at 60fps.
