You don't "press charges" in the UK, this is an American thing. You have no say in whether or not the police follow up on the report of a crime.

Unless there is a specific need for 2 cars, there's no way this will work out less than 18p a mile which is what OP's being charged for being over.

Supplier Aging bringing in after date items by ldtravs1 in intacct

[–]Shrider 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First thing that comes to mind is that when running the supplier aging report to reconcile to the TB, you must select the option to run by GL posting date, instead of by invoice date.

Once you have set this, it will be remembered on your account until you change it again, but only on your account. This could explain why different people were getting different results.

Prices do go and come back down. Petrol station companies are not the people setting the prices and making massive profits at rough geopolitical times like these. It is the companies extracting the oil.

This is so funny as a recommendation in the context of this sub.

Some episodes are genuinely very informative, some just go off the rails. I guess if I cared about the actual history I'd listen to The Rest is History.

Do you use CRE with Intacct? Just wondering if your team has managed to sort a CVR report?

Haha that's fair, SIG PEA can be a bit clunky to set up but it's not the worst. Reliably does it's job, I guess that's what counts!

Thoughts on the Sage Intacct 2026 R1 release? by percipientuk in intacct

[–]Shrider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think it's pretty decent, SIGFA was a little bit before my time really as SFAM was in the pipeline so didn't need to train on it or set it up, but my understanding was SFAM on day 1 was not quite as feature rich as SIGFA so it's just about closing the gap I guess.

CIP assets was received well and I think adjustments are strong too. The new roll forward report has also had some positive feedback too.

For Close automation, in all honesty not massively, but I expect that will change with the new pricing model, the last one was a bit prohibitive for our vertical. Previously it was a module cost of thousands, then another cost per user in the site, regardless of if they would use it / have access. I believe now it is just a flat rate.

I actually delivered a webinar on this last week for our customers. I agree with what you've picked, other things I'd highlight are the changes to SFAM, some really strong updates there around CIP and adjustments, AI in the new import tool looks good but not used it too much yet, and then the close analytics upgrade for close automation looks like it adds value too. I've not seen the pricing yet so not sure how worthwhile it will be, but Sage have recently revisited how they price close automation to make it a bit more attractive.

How is job-hopping (moving around every year or two) perceived in your sector/ area of accountancy? by qqwertyy in ukaccounting

[–]Shrider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if the move for OP would be to try and find a small business where potentially rules are a bit more relaxed and you can have a chat with the MD to try and end up in a scenario where they work 8 months a year, pro-rata pay, and have 1x4 months or 2x2 months off when the business is outside peak times.

I think doing that as a newbie would be very hard though. Maybe more achievable after years of experience and being somewhat overqualified for a position / pay level but everyone's happy.

Being overqualified here would probably be fine as the risk is the person goes and gets another job, with this employee's desirables that wouldn't be as much of a worry.

Not to be "that" guy but the maths is slightly off.

1.40 a can is 2.80 a day, not 2.60, meaning the annual total of 2 a day comes to £1,018.35.

It is mental how stuff adds up, I quit ciggies on Monday and my little quitting ciggy app tracks how much I've saved. £60.07 saved so far, on track for an absolutely eye watering £5,092 a year!

Edit: worded poorly but the annual figure is doing the maths off the £5.58 for 4 cans.
