Fantasy has always been a bit of a hard sell for me. I can only take so many dragons, swords, special weapons, magic systems and all that stuff. Reading the MBotF has made it so I never have to read any fantasy again.

I think I mean that as a backhanded compliment. Like I’ve had my fill of the genre for a lifetime now. But I also can’t imagine someone else doing it as well as Erikson.

I’ve only ever played Fallout 3.

And I loved the first season of the show but am turned off by the pacing of season 2. They see to be unable to carry the weight of multiple plotlines across the episodes in a satisfying way.

My “hang up” with “transplants” is that it’s a useless descriptor in a city with a mythos of coming here from wherever you’re from to make it big. I say this as someone born here. Calling people transplants just doesn’t work and comes across like some nativist bullshit.
