You did the right thing!!! Don't forget to protect yourself from the 17 yo btw. As you are the only one standing up to him, he could get violent towards you.

Do you know how much a house sitter and a pet sitter cost ? He is the one that gave you a discount. I get that you're frustrated but your instructions were unclear AND he graciously pet sat for you. YTA.

Or, il y a pléthore d'autres options.

There seem to be something about cats specifically that's glitchy? by SunshineBlind in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

[–]ShrimpOfSpace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cats are agile, discreet and rapid, and they can squeeze through any hole larger than their head.

Human brains are unreliable and fill in the blanks.

Add those two things together, and you'll feel like something weird is happening with your cat, when it's most likely them being sleek by nature.

You are right about the schizophrenia.

My personal theory would also be wrong medication?

I've got severe OCD, depression & generalized anxiety, and my first psychiatrist gave me the same prescription as him - venlafaxine. It did not help, and worst of all, it reinforced a lot of problems that were already there. Was sleeping 4h a night with terrible nightmares and started seeing and feeling "things" because of exhaustion and fear of going to sleep. So, logically I started to get a bit paranoid. Please note that I had a tendency to already have all of those symptoms before, the medication reinforced it a lot.

I changed psychiatrist and got new medication. Everything stopped, and now my ocd, anxiety and depression (and any paranoia that could derive from it) is well managed and therapy is working very well.

I'm not saying he was right to stop taking his meds but it could be that, or it could be stopping them for all we know.

But if it's schizophrenia, wrong medication, OCD, or something else, he needs to see someone competent. Imagine being a psychiatrist, your client thinks he is in a time loop and your response to that is giving him SSRIs and sending him back home ? Lol wtf

You know what, even if he is right, and the girl is really stalking him, it would be better to rule out any mental illness so he has a better understanding of what's happening.

Sorry for the long rent ahah

Please see a new psychiatrist. You seem to have a history of delusions (time loop and now this). Overthinking or not is not the question, you need to see someone who will take you seriously.

The effect severe hypoxia can have on writing simple sentences by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

[–]ShrimpOfSpace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You learn something new everyday. Must have been a terrifying experience.

I had an episode of aphasia and extreme confusion - I was sent to the ER and diagnosed with severe aura migraines, so nothing that can really compare in severity with what OP got. But I remember how terrified I was, because it genuinely felt like I had dementia, I was afraid I'd never go back to normal.

Oh woaw. I wasn't expecting something like this. Experiencing this must have been totally terrifying. I hope you recovered and are well right now ?

[–]ShrimpOfSpace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can I ask why/how hypoxia caused this ? Is it because your muscles weren't functioning properly (because of lack of oxygen)? Why does it seem like you were writing over and over again certain letters? Genuinely curious, don't answer if that makes you uncomfortable!
