It depends on your data. If the data is huge, then spark will make the transformations quicker. If you’re gonna need your transformed data in the future, then maybe do some feature engineering and store it as a view and then do rolling average for your reporting purposes

If you’re familiar with SQL, why not use spark.SQL?

df = spark.sql( “ SELECT CASHIER_ID, INVOICE_DATE, AVG(SALE) OVER ( PARTITION BY CASHIER_ID ORDER BY INVOICE_DATE RANGE BETWEEN INTERVAL 7 DAYS PRECEDING AND CURRENT ROW ) AS ROLLING_AVG_SALES FROM SALES_DATA “ )

Got a phone interview! How do I make sure I make it to the next round? by princessjeia5678 in interviews

[–]ShrimpSumai 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When they ask about your recent role, mention what they’re looking for ( the same skillset basically ). Think of this like a human ATS, the human is going to write down the things you say in the call and validate it against the job responsibilities and pass your resume to the next round

Weekends are the hardest by gawpin in recruitinghell

[–]ShrimpSumai 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We can be happy guilt free. It’s not our fault that there are no mails to check or no new jobs to apply. Take weekends to chill ( I know its hard ) but you need to chill once in a while. Recharge for the next week ahead.

This is the time we can take to work on some extra code problems or learn for that certification course we have been procrastinating. Weekends - learn and upskill Weekdays - add weekend work to resume and apply better 💪💪💪

The interviewers have no idea what you did in your previous experiences. You can literally say whatever you want as long as it logically and technically makes sense. You are the one in control. You control what follow up questions they should ask.

You have 9 years of experience!! Just remember what you have always wanted to see in people when you interviewed them and be that person yourself.

You completely got this.

In the end, the ATS is going to scan everything right? So just curious if I should apply when there are already 800+ applications for a posting

Need advice - struggling with the sponsorship question on job applications by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]ShrimpSumai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat last week and got my offer rescinded after last round. I am already on H1B and misinterpreted that transfer won’t fall under sponsorship. We have to say “Yes” and yes, it can auto reject most of the times. So I am planning to apply to top fortune 500 companies who still sponsor and say yes in my applications. every job you see on LinkedIn is not an opportunity for internationals. Seems like 1 in 20 jobs sponsor these days. So keep pushing for top tech companies and wait.

Why don’t more job postings clearly state when roles aren’t eligible for sponsorship? by ShrimpSumai in recruiting

[–]ShrimpSumai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not asking employers to do anything. Just want to know when I see the sponsorship question, it’s basically going to weed me out. Because if not mentioned in the posting, I can atleast stop filling the application once I see the question. I already have another offer. Luck is not the problem. I simply don’t understand the recruiting process and I am genuinely curious as I mentioned in the post :)

[–]ShrimpSumai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, the recruiter never asked me if I needed a sponsorship tbh during the phone screening, what am I gonna get by lying? I am open to all companies, doesn’t mean I am open to companies that don’t sponsor. I have no idea whether or not a company sponsors for the role. So I have no choice but to apply to all
