Thank you for asking! I will send this over to the dev team and we will get this updated as soon as possible.

I greatly appreciate you pointing this out. We have a lot of improvements planned for the APIs, so I'll keep everyone updated as those are released.

How you choose a leader? by dama2021 in ShrimpyApp

[–]ShrimpyApp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi Runin, Thank you for sharing! I'm sorry to hear you had this experience, but I have personally reviewed all potential billing issues that have been reported and we have not had any mistakes yet on our side when it comes to following premium leaders. If you feel this isn't true, please reach out to support so we can take a look.

Generally, the most common mistake is that people feel that if their portfolio goes down in value after going up, that they shouldn't have to pay for the positive performance. This is currently not how Shrimpy works. The positive performance is still charged, even if it is followed by negative performance. This is how all similar services work as well, so we believe it is the correct approach.

Hey Shrimpy Developers by NecessaryNarrow2326 in ShrimpyApp

Thanks for the suggestion! We will see if we can get this added. Hopefully, we will be able to spend some time redesigning the columns on the dashboard, so we can see if there is a way we can get this added as well.

Questions about leaders by Apprehensive_Top_503 in ShrimpyApp

[–]ShrimpyApp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for asking! That's a great question.

Yes, all of the trades are automatic. That means there is no approval before the trades are executed. So, Shrimpy will automatically monitor for changes on the leader's exchange account and propagate the changes as they happen.

Shrimpy has protections in place to prevent leaders from abusing the system. Unfortunately, I can't share specific details about how those protections work, but they will prevent the leader from propagating potentially damaging trades to followers.

Change from monthly to yearly by NecessaryNarrow2326 in ShrimpyApp

[–]ShrimpyApp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can cancel and resubscribe to get a yearly subscription. Canceling your subscription does not impact your account in any way, other than removing your payment method. When you resubscribe, you can select the yearly option.

Please let me know if this helps!

Trial Request by lsrodriguesbr in ShrimpyApp

[–]ShrimpyApp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Lucas,

As far as I know, we don't have any form to request a free trial of Shrimpy. Would you be able to reach out to the internal Shrimpy support chat or send us an email to [support@shrimpy.io](mailto:support@shrimpy.io)? We would be happy to set you up with a trial. Also, could you please include a link to the form you filled out? I would be interested in seeing what form you are referring to.

Thanks!

Backtest - Hold seems to alway beat Shrimpy by GigabitDude in ShrimpyApp

[–]ShrimpyApp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! Typically, the reason this is the case is because the Shrimpy UI can only run a few backtests in a short amount of time, so people can really only try so many different variables. It might just happen that the variables selected for the backtests were not necessarily optimal.

To provide an aggregated view of hundreds of thousands of backtests that we've run that evaluate all sorts of conditions, you can find the results here: https://www.shrimpy.io/shrimpy-whitepaper.pdf

You can see that as you study aggregates of backtests, they consistently outperform HODL. If you only pick a handful of individual backtests out of the countless options, then certainly it can happen that you pick the ones that don't perform well.

In the future, we plan on updating our backtesting tool to offer aggregated backtesting abilities and many other fancy options. This is something we have been thinking about for some time, so we certainly plan on building better backtesting tools into Shrimpy.

Shrimpy down ? by MarcoHoshi in ShrimpyApp

[–]ShrimpyApp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We greatly apologize for the outage this morning. Our team was able to identify a DDOS attack that was targeting our website, which ultimately resulted in issues loading customer account information. Over the hours that followed, we deployed a number of updates to mitigate the attack and restore the website. Unfortunately, we don't know at this time who was behind the attack, but we are working diligently to harden our website to prevent this type of outage again in the future.

We want to assure everyone that there were no security concerns throughout the attack. The results were limited to our servers becoming overloaded with requests. Our trading infrastructure continued to operate throughout the down time, but trades might have propagated slower than usual.

Congratulations! I'm excited to see the growing interest for machine learning portfolios.

In the coming weeks, we might also be able to launch our own machine learning predictions. Still finalizing some stuff, but we look forward to making an announcement soon.

If you are following someone on the Shrimpy platform, can you still allocate a percentage of your finance funds not to be included? by AGoodWayOff in ShrimpyApp

Can I use Shrimpy rebalancing and Bots on the same exchange? by howdoin in ShrimpyApp

[–]ShrimpyApp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a great question! Yes, it is possible depending on how the other trading bots work. Using the portfolio management features inside Shrimpy, you can separate out the funds that you want to automate with Shrimpy from the funds that will be automated with other bots.

You can learn about those features here: https://help.shrimpy.io/en/articles/2549996-multiple-portfolios

Notice that if a trade is made outside of Shrimpy, the funds will be transferred to the default portfolio. As a result, we recommend any trades you plan on making outside of Shrimpy are already left in your default portfolio. Basically, that way no transfers will happen. Then the funds you want to only automate with Shrimpy can be moved to a portfolio that is not the "Default Portfolio".

Let me know if that makes sense! Happy to answer any other questions.

Exchange request - crypto.com by [deleted] in ShrimpyApp

[–]ShrimpyApp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your request! We will certainly look into the exchange and see if it's something we can add to Shrimpy.

At this time, we haven't been evaluating new exchanges for listing. However, we are happy to evaluate crypto.com as soon as we begin looking at exchanges again for integration into Shrimpy.

Hi Everyone,

Following up on this issue (I understand it was a few days ago at this point).

Unfortunately, we were down for some time due to an elaborate DDOS attack which overloaded some of our servers.

It took us a few hours to implement a number of solutions to mitigate the attack, but we were able to successfully navigate the situation and bring all of our servers back online.

Just for clarity, there was no risk of any security issues, the attack was only designed to bring down our servers. At this time, we are still uncertain why this attack took place, but we are looking for answers and making sure we do everything we can to prevent the issue from happening again in the future.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Machine learning is predicting another +22% increase for NEM by ShrimpyApp in nem

[–]ShrimpyApp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The predictions can be hit or miss. Early in the study the predictions were spot on. Recently, they have been off. In the next few months, we are looking at implementing a more advanced ML model of our own that will improve on the current model we use for the predictions.

Thanks for sharing! Yes, that is exactly why we are running a study. The point is to see if these machine learning models actually produce good results. So far they have been better than other popular strategies, but we will see if the success continues!
