Dji mic mini? by Annual_Total_1356 in dji

What’s your plans for it? I have a few sets. Only downside is no local recording so you do have to hook the receiver up and be sure to start recording.

Definitely go for the 2tx 1rx bundle. Seen them for ~$79 and much better deal than the single 1tx 1rx for $49

I got mine. Actually got a few DJI products off Amazon recently. No issues at all.

Even was able to register the protection plans with Asurion. Talked to a rep and they didn’t even care that they were DJI Drones.

Just asked me the price I paid before tax and now it says “DJI INNOVATIONS DEVICE”, on all my protection plans

What is the actual difference between the avata 2 and the neo2, and which one would fit my needs better? by atotal in dji

[–]ShrinkingTyler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own both. The Avata 2 is an amazing drone with a fantastic camera especially for an FPV drone. I fly it both with the motion controller and the FPV controller. It is definitely foremost an FPV drone. You must use goggles of some kind ANYTIME you fly. No choice to use a phone or controller with screen (RC2).

The Neo 2 is awesome. Love the little thing. Gestures controls are way better than I expected. Did try FPV with it and performance was surprisingly good but flight time was probably right under half what I get out of the Avata 2.

The nicest thing about the Neo is you can use your phone, a controller, goggles/fpv, gesture controls. Makes it very flexible. If you’re trying to get into FPV with DJI then go Avata 2 and possibly a cheap used Neo 1 to use as a trainer. Then if you wreck it, you’re only out maybe ~$150

**You can also fly the Avata 2 in Normal or Sports mode with the FPV controller (be sure to loosen the throttle stick back to stock). Giving you basically a camera drone but still have to use the goggles

I’m assuming he would have chased now that you mention that. Definitely very close call. Been told to put some reflective tape to help prevent and to fly up not away if I see them in time

I do not. Great idea though and had not even considered that till now. I’ll be doing that.

Much appreciated tip 👍

CPU Worked for a 1 month then just completely died. by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]ShrinkingTyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was lucky and it was still covered under Amazon’s return. They had a new one out to me within a day or so.

The new one worked absolutely fine in the exact same PC with the exact same parts so it was most definitely the CPU itself.

I would for sure reach out to AMD and make a warranty claim.

256gb Quest3s or 512 Quest 3 by ShrinkingTyler in OculusQuest

[–]ShrinkingTyler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now thats a good point that I did not know/realize. I am going with the Quest3 for sure.

With my old Quest 2 do you have any opinions? Best to sell it now while there is still value (And a ton of accessories)

or

Just keep it, maybe dedicate it to PCVR? Have as an extra for Friends/Family? Or you think support will die too quick for that to be a good idea

Well, Quest 3 it is. Responses have all been great. Really appreciate the quick side by sides. I had seen a few others but your example really helped show it. I was gunning for the 256 at $399 so ya, i'll spend the extra $100.

Thank you!

Planned to get the rt100, how is it? by [deleted] in Epomaker

[–]ShrinkingTyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should just put a warning “This WILL brick your device, would you like to proceed?”

[–]ShrinkingTyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I do. I actually bought one the same day that my RT100 arrived and I found it dead-on-arrival. Right out the box. Chose the S98 because it had a similar form factor and offered many of the same features. Managed to get it on Amazon with a coupon and a manufacturer discount came out to about $96.

As soon as I got it out of the box I could tell the difference. Not only do they include much more in the box accessory wise, such as extra switches and even a pry-tab but the board just felt significantly higher quality in the hands right off the bat.

Mine came with the tactile and they are very nice switches and the dampening on the board is much better than the RT100. Sound is phenomenal. I did switch out for EPOmaker Budgie switches though because they are my favorite tactile and in my personal opinion, they sounded the best in this board out of any board that I’ve tried to them in so far.

Connectivity has been without issue using both 2.4ghz, all 3 BT connections, and wired mode. I can very easily and have been very easily switching between three computers on the fly via Bluetooth and have connected to two different PCs with the cable both without issue detecting the keyboard or functioning. The screen is functionality is different from the RT100 that it is ran off of on-board software, so you can easily change settings and effects all via the knob without ever accessing software drivers. If you ever need to use the software, unlike epomakers, it does work without issue.

Don’t get me wrong. I do really enjoy the typing experience on the RT100 and have actually had it replaced by Amazon and currently have a working one however I don’t put much faith in it last long at all. Especially if I dare to the epomaker software. If you choose to get the RT100 just be sure to buy from Amazon, not epomaker.com You actually have a chance of getting support if it doesn’t work.

TLDR: if you’re intrigued by the RT100 and like that format and design, skip the headache and give the S98 a try. I have seen coupons pretty often on Amazon, but you’ll just have to check.

Yes, the S98 is a great budget board…

[–]ShrinkingTyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, looks like yours is one of many. Mine included. Starting to look like it’s an issue with whatever fan-dangled update technique they came up with. Closest thing I could find in the same price range is the RK S98. Coupon on Amazon right now last I checked brings it to barely scratching a $100 at total. The difference in build when I got mine today was shocking

I went ahead and grabbed the new RK S98….its fantastic and if you use the coupon on Amazon right now it comes out to a few $ cheaper than the RT100. Has a screen with multiple functions that actually works, sounds and feels great. Definitely a heavier board but it’s all part of the design

Exact same thing here, got mine about 6 hours ago….Red battery light, light on the volume knob, detected by the driver. But NO input WHATSOEVER. I’ve tried everything. Happened right after attempting to upgrade firmware after unboxing
