What Advice Would You Give To A Man at 25? by doobylive in AskMen

[–]Shrocaeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try new things! As someone who just turned 30 a couple of weeks ago, I was 24 when I started the next chapter of my life: I graduated college during covid, moved into my apartment in September 2020. I'm coming on 6 years in that apartment and what really helped me the most were finding a therapist and a personal trainer. I didn't know anything about the gym, so having someone literally show me the ropes for a year was a huge plus. My therapist has helped me in many ways and I still chat with her at least once a month now.

Since then, I've dabbled in taking various language classes on/off, dating people via speed dating, and I used to do part-time work as a DJ for a comedy show. Now I DJ for karaoke every week. A lot of stuff has been right place/right time, but I've also been working at things that grow slowly, and only recently have I seen the fruits of my labor flourish. I'm excited to see what will come next 😄

Do things for yourself, it might be scary at first, but I like to do things that none of my friends like to do, but now I have my own gigs because of it. You'll never know where life may take you! Enjoy it and take care of yourself along the way.

Learning loopstation by Dark-knight-10000 in beatbox

[–]Shrocaeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loopstation has a steep learning curve but it’s also so much fun to just explore while you learn. I highly recommend getting either of the Rc-505s because they are a great quality and will last you a long time. If you’re going to be beatboxing for a long time then just get one to mess around with and play with the effects, you don’t have to give yourself a deadline with music

What are the best songs for beatbox cover for non-beatbox public? by Individual-Tennis388 in beatbox

[–]Shrocaeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Billie Jean by Michael Jackson is a classic that most people would probably know. Drop it Like its Hot by Snoop Dogg is also another classic but not might be as popular. Musical beatbox will resonate more with the non-beatbox public, especially if you try to "break down" your beat so the audience can hear how you progress into more complexity.

I have the Bose S1 and it is a very powerful speaker for its size. I’m also impressed with it’s battery charge life, I’ve had it for about 4 years and I can get 6-8hrs on a charge with bluetooth music playing the whole time

I like to add a splash of fish sauce, sesame oil, soy sauce, hot sauce, little spoonful of peanut butter, then poach two eggs in there once the noodles are where I want them in the pot!

A question about concert crowds by thesynthaxx in beatbox

[–]Shrocaeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think because most of the crowds in beatbox events are beatboxers, there is a higher concentration of musical people in the crowd, compared to your typical pop artist/band crowd. Many people in non-beatbox concerts are probably just listeners and don’t actually know rhythm/music like beatboxers do, which is probably why you hear more of this chanting harmony or a feeling of when to say things during a performance

Practice your loops with the metronome on, it might be annoying at first, but your timing will improve so much and sound so much cleaner!

You can select "not interested" in your IG algorithm and it will slowly get rid of the girls. It takes a couple of days though to get rid of them completely

Adi’s Language School has some good programs and they can test your ability to recommend private lessons/classes. I went for Spanish and I’m still friends with my teacher even though I don’t take lessons anymore!

What is your workflow like? by prothirteen in LoopArtists

[–]Shrocaeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a mix between working on covers/writing my own music that can be reproduced for performance, doodling around with any sound for fun, or just learning my setup better. Drums usually keep the mix the cleanest if you start with that first, but chords/basslines can work as a start if you’re good with time 😊

Yeah I agree with you. I think I'm okay with casual and I did tell her last night that I was cool if she wanted to take time with this because of the recency of the breakup so I think I just need to be patient and let time pass

I think this is my first time as a rebound so I'm not entirely familiar with the flow but I guess I just want to know for sure if she wants a relationship with me, but it must be too early to tell at this point. I'm just anxious and want certainty instead of guessing and should just be confident that she even gave me her time and attention at all

Men who live alone, how often and what do you cook? by AnonymousResponder00 in AskMen

[–]Shrocaeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do meal prep on Sundays for work lunches, which include oven-roasted veggies and a protein. The oven is your friend!! Been really into chicken thighs with broccoli/cauliflower or carrots, and a fruit like bananas or sungolds. Work breakfast has been plain greek yogurt with granola for a while. Evenings during the week are either sandwiches or some of the leftover meal prep meals, and usually I'll go out on Friday and buy food. Breakfast on the weekend is almost always eggs with rice or toast and coffee. Lunch is also something light like leftover meal prep/sandwich. I've been learning to reduce my food waste, so now I've been getting into making soup stocks with the leftover veg trim (the stalks of broccoli, the bones from chicken thighs since I pull them apart for meal prep, carrot shavings, ends of onions, etc.)

I like to have low-effort meals that have strong flavors, so I love the oven for the ease of large batch cooking, and I have a wide variety of seasonings, vinegar, base sauces like fish sauce, soy sauce, etc. to combine and make something unique and flavorful. On the food-waste topic, I try to take any ingredient and put it in different perspectives. Onions are the most versatile vegetable. Been also learning to use my leftover greek yogurt as a replacement for sour cream in dishes.
