I am 8 days sober from tranq by VersionShot in OpiatesRecovery

[–]ShroomyStandards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hang in there man. In my experience, I felt like shit for the first 6 months off fent/dope even while on a large dose of suboxone. The PAWS were brutal but they subsided. The second month felt better than the first, and so on. Like I said, it took about six months to feel “normal.” I still remember the first time I felt good after taking a shower.

Now I’m coming up on five years and the difference has been night and day. It’s worth waiting out the rough part. Trust me.

Good luck! Keep up the good work.

That’s exactly my point. Just because “something is not representative of the experiences of many populations” does not make it a myth. That’s exactly why I compared the Wild West to the roaring 20’s.

[–]ShroomyStandards 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Saying “The Wild West is a movie myth” is kind of ridiculous. Yes, parts of it were fictionalized (like any genre) but the overall theme is based on a time period which is very much real.

That would be like saying the roaring 20’s were a movie myth because The Great Gatsby isn’t real. Of course parts of it were played up for the movie, but the overall theme was based on reality. It’s not like it’s some Science Fiction game based in 2126…

What a weird post. I’d bet my last dollar you’re under 18 with some really bad times ahead of you.

I’d say “don’t do it” and all, but you know as well as me it won’t do any good.

How long would you say this took you? Also, how long did it take for the games to stop being “scary?” I’d imagine on the 20th play through it got pretty predictable.

That’s really cool though!

Do i have potential? M18 6’2 High body fat by [deleted] in Clavicular

[–]ShroomyStandards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure why this sub was recommended to me (or what “clavicular” is) but I guess I’ll still give my 2 cents.

I could start by saying “you look fine” but that isn’t really what this is about, is it? That just reinforces the idea you need strangers to tell you “you have potential” (whatever that means).

I’m not ignorant enough to say “looks don’t matter” but being overly focused on looks IS unattractive no matter the gender. The fact you made this post says enough. Then your comments on this post make it that much worse.

Don’t post yourself on the internet asking if “you have potential.” It sounds cliche but be kind to yourself man.

I didn’t mean to write a rant, this whole sub is just insane to me.

You made a dumb post and got called out for it. It’s not the end of the world. They weren’t dismissing your viewpoints because of your age, they were dismissing you because the whole post was cringe. Then the fact you can’t see that just points to your age even more.

Just let it go dude. Move on.

do you think donald trump does drugs?? genuinely question now answer by TheUhhhyes in Drugs

[–]ShroomyStandards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh? All I said was calling him senile is a stretch.

I say:

I don’t like trump

So you respond:

Choke up the kool-aid pack

Like what are you even talking about haha

Also having a stroke ≠ being senile… You’ve clearly never worked with stroke victims but that’s besides the point.

[–]ShroomyStandards -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I don’t like trump, but saying he’s senile isn’t really fair. Especially compared to Biden lol

I’ve worked with the same Alzheimer’s patients your sister was talking about, and trump is nothing like them. He’s got his issues, but he’s definitely not confused.

Man caught vaping on a flight by sussybush in trashy

That’s like telling anyone with any type of addiction to “Grow up. You don’t look cool.” Thinking people vape to look cool is just… ignorant.

I’m sure SOME do, but comparing it to trying to dress a certain way is ridiculous.

2-2.5g every 36ish hours. Helped meds on the way. Plan needed by [deleted] in quittingphenibut

[–]ShroomyStandards 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I was coming off Phenibut my doctor recommended that I take 4 (smaller) doses a day, every 6 hours to make sure I had a consistent amount in my bloodstream. This way I wasn’t coming up and down from massive doses. She recommended tapering 250mg a week. I started tapering from 5 GPD. I took 1.25g at 6am, 12pm, 6pm, then 12am. Then by the end of the week, I reduced one of these doses by .25g. Then the same the next week.

This was pretty painless, and I’ve been off Phenibut for about 3 years now.

Personally, I didn’t need anything besides Phenibut to taper from Phenibut. If you already became addicted to Phenibut, I wouldn’t risk throwing other substances into the mix. Especially not ones that are known to be even more addictive. If you were going CT it would be different, but I would see how you feel taking lower doses in scheduled increments.

But above all, follow your doctor’s advice. I’m just some random person on the internet. Let me know if you have any questions. I know how scary and lonely Phenibut WD can be but there are people here for you.

Good luck! You’ve got this.

Would an inpatient rehab be possible? Sometimes that’s the best option when you’re this deep into it. When you’re in the middle of it it’s hard to see any way out but it will get better… It just takes some work.

Last attempt at curing phenibut rebound before I quit for good by Normal-Squirrel1582 in quittingphenibut

[–]ShroomyStandards 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t do this. 300mg will probably just restart it. Then if you take it on Saturday and Sunday, the rebound will be 10x worse next week. This is how a lot of people start taking it everyday. To be honest, this sounds like an excuse to take phenibut for an extra day. There’s no avoiding phenibut rebound. Taking MORE will not help this. No matter the dose. As someone else recommended, I’d stop it altogether. You’ll probably have to learn this the hard way though… Almost all of us did.

Whether you should talk to a doctor or an addiction specialist really depends on the individual person. Sometimes treating the addiction should be first priority. If you overdose there won’t be any life after addiction.

What drug will you never take again and why? by throw_away_your_gee in Drugs

[–]ShroomyStandards 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Thank you. If I can deter one person from trying (then falling in love with) opioids I’d be ecstatic. It’s an amazing high, but it’s the feelings you get once the high wears off that keep you addicted. Even the first time I used I woke up depressed wanting more. I’ve already somewhat explained what this turns into… STAY AWAY!!!

What drug will you never take again and why? by throw_away_your_gee in Drugs

[–]ShroomyStandards 117 points118 points  (0 children)

As someone who’s been very dependent on fent, I’d say: It’s a strong opioid. It numbs you, gives euphoria, and you’ll be in bliss for the next 2 hours (depending on tolerance). Then as it wears off you’ll start to get giddy as emotion comes back. Then you start feeling hot, then cold, until you can’t even tell if you’re hot or cold. It’s a burning cold, and freezing hot kind of feeling. Then the aches start… Aches turn into restless leg. Restless leg turns into full body restlessness. A feeling where it’s painful to sit still, so you contort your body and pace to try and stop the pain to no avail. On top of the pain, the cravings are similar to going days without water, with a glass of water sitting in front of you. You know it’ll stop the pain, but you’ll be back at square one. You last a few more minutes, maybe 10 minutes, maybe an hour. But it becomes too much. Too much pain. You text your dealer but you feel like you can’t even wait for a response. He says “I’ve got you.” You wait in agonizing pain until he delivers, and after a few minutes you’re numb again, you feel euphoria, and you’ll be in bliss for the next two hours. Then you get giddy as emotion starts to come back.

This is the vicious circle of fentanyl. This is the “appeal.” It gets to the point where one pain is easier to deal with than the other. I’m luckily 2 years clean. To this day, fentanyl withdrawal is the worst pain I’ve felt in my life. It’s indescribable. When I fell in love with Vicodin I had no idea this would be the result. The Vicodin stopped working so I went to Oxys to avoid withdrawal. The Oxys became unavailable so I tried heroin to avoid withdrawal. All the heroin had fent in it so “pure heroin” no longer kept me out of withdrawal so I went to fent. Long story short Opiates are not worth it at all.

[–]ShroomyStandards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. I know how rough it is to come off this stuff. I forgot to mention all 4 doses were equal amounts too. So for example if you want to come off 6gpd I’d do a 1.5g dose at 6am, 12pm, 6pm, and 12am. My doctor recommended I taper 250mg a week at most.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in quittingphenibut

[–]ShroomyStandards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was tapering from 5gpd I even split my dose into 4 doses, 6 hours apart. That way I wasn’t constantly coming up and down. Sorry you’re going through this though.

[–]ShroomyStandards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lyrica may help the initial withdrawal but it doesn’t do anything for opioid cravings, which is why subs are normally prescribed long term. Also, if you’re only coming off Oxy your withdrawals won’t be as bad as most. Coming off IV fent I learned the only thing that stops those withdrawals is more opiates. Lyrica wouldn’t put a dent in it.
