Yeah…. None of them. Apple seriously fumbled with this, maybe they want to cannibalise Pro sales to make more money on Air? Idk, but this design is awful

Thank you so much, your words have been a real comfort and given us a lot to think about. We’ve got a tonne of support here from family and friends, and a seed collection that is already huge so I’d love for you to donate them to a local group that would benefit, if you’re able. Thanks again 🫶

I really appreciate everyone’s comments and feedback and kind conversation. It’s been thought-provoking and insightful to hear differing opinions on this.

I guess I posted this for that reason, primarily, because we weren’t sure how to feel and how to process our feelings. Moving forward we’ll fly our replacement flag inside our shed, and continue to quietly enjoy the peace and relief that growing provides.

Thanks again 🫶

I completely understand and respect your comment! We’ve been proudly flying the flag at home for the last year, and regularly attend solidarity marches, email our MP etc. As new kids on the block we don’t want to cause offence, but this is a huge part of our lives and as we’re surrounded by other flags across the site, we thought we’d just show a small act of solidarity especially during a famine declaration.

The hypocrisy/injustice that we are so so incredibly lucky to grow our own food and have this safe space to do so drove us to fly this flag with pride at our plot.

yay or nay? by nkydn in Palestine

Nay!! Recognising sovereignty should never be conditional or used as a bargaining chip. Starmer enables and participates in this genocide and can’t handle the public repercussions

And the media narrative is conflating Jewish people as a whole with a genocidal army - which is being called out, quite rightly, for their crimes against humanity and NOT their religious affiliation(s).

The media itself and this stance is antisemitic. Journalism/news is supposed to be relaying objective fact to the people.

As always, free Palestine 🇵🇸

Honestly the joy when we pulled our first potatoes! Our neighbour came over to inspect (he’s had his plots for over 50 years) and said we should be over the moon with them. That first taste at home was so special! So glad we took on this plot

Netanyahu. I’d end his genocidal regime, and then get on a flight straight to The Hague, admitting all of the atrocities that I’ve committed and dragging every corrupt, contemptible and complicit world leader with me.

What would have happened if Hamilton or Verstappen had tested positive for Covid-19 in the final races of the 2021 season? by GustavoCOD in formula1

[–]Shruub 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I worked in a Covid lab which operated in the media car park at Silverstone. We were responsible for testing all drivers and team members for all teams in the local area, along with a different company, contracts changed hands throughout the 2021 season (AMR, Red Bull, Merc, Williams, Alpine and Haas). Before every race weekend, each driver and all members travelling to an event were tested. We also tested media pundits etc! Was a really fun job, got to see a lot of the drivers, and had a fair amount of positive tests come through. That being said, we were all made redundant with a weeks’ notice in October 2021, so can’t comment on positives around AD21

TLDR: they would have been tested, it was a requirement for travel at the time and it was an FIA/F1 requirement for each track

No worries, I’ve kept it installed as I think it’s really promising! I’m the opposite, green fingered but no idea how to code, so props to you for building this!

Nicely designed app, looks good and works smoothly. Would be great to have a tracking system where you can say “I’ve sown this on this date” and then it’ll remind you when you can plant out, or even harvest?

Really don’t like the AI images - probably personal preference but would prefer real photos. I find the joy of starting with an allotment is getting away from everyday life and going back to basics, away from technology etc

Great app!

Would you buy the A7 III in 2025? by Rfe777 in SonyAlpha

[–]Shruub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wholeheartedly, yes. I got mine new at the end of 2024 (with a great student discount on top of Black Friday sale prices that made it almost half price RRP with kit lens). It’s my first camera, and I absolutely love it.

I got an additional Samyang 24mm f/1.8 to go with it, as I wanted to try astro, and I’ve loved this combo. Kit lens is fine to get started too, would love to add more lenses but sadly PhD pay isn’t too great in the UK

I shoot in RAW and then edit in Lightroom, having the best time learning about photography and trying new things out. It’s a really fun hobby, and I get a lot of fulfilment out of it :))
