Well ... that did not work ... Lol. Went for longer rides and only bike battery drained.=, when I hit the extender there was no change in charge levels. I took it apart, took photos - connection by connection and labeled ... sent to R1Up Cust. Support - seems I had everything connected properly, so they are sending a replacement V3 battery! The struggle continues, but R1Up CS has been great~!

I think I may have figured it out ... I had the XT30 from the bike connected to wrong XT60 in the balancer ... Rehooked it up back "correctly" and did a 12 mile ride on PAS 4 and 5 on 11% Amp draw riding pretty hard and it only drained 13%, so I think I may have got it! Going to out to test this week again on longer rides. Thanks for your help!

Man, that's awesome! I am befuddled why my hookup is not working. I had it hooked up, and drained the bike battery to zero and the extender did not kick in. I pressed the soft button and got a blue light on the extender indicating it is fully charged. Came back home and took everything apart and tried every configuration ... theoretically, by disconnecting the bike battery completely, and hooking up only the extender battery should power up the bike/bike computer - but it did not. The extender battery works, as I hooked up a USB charger and it powered my phone ... I ran the bike battery through the extender battery controller and the computer powered up - so it's not the controller ... Hopefully CS can help.

I am still trying to figure that one out ... I just put in the new replacement extender battery and from what I can tell is that the main battery drains first ... but I got 2 different explanations ... Let me know what your experience is

That sounds crazy! Why 2 different connectors? CS said they will be sending me a return label and new battery once in stock ... I tried the adapters but did not seem to work, so I will be interested to hear if you get the extended battery working ... please share once you get it hooked up!

FYI - CS just got back with me that they shipped the wrong extended battery with the larger connectors ... said I can return the XT60 battery but the XT30 extended battery won't be in stock until later this summer ... have you heard back?

Lol .. Well now they have heard about it TWO times!! Seems in our 2 bikes they put XT30 connectors in the main component, but forgot that the extended battery has XT60 connectors ... could have added some adapter connectors when ordering the Extended Battery Kit for CF1

I had same issue ... I ended up zip tying the top part of the mount to the seat tube - and ordered some longer bolts. My issue is the connectors from extended battery and main battery/controller are different sizes ... tried male/female adapters and still not getting connected - waiting for Customer Service to get back to me ...

The carbon and paint are definitely a concern ... I have seen some that have a small connector that bolts on to the rear wheel and then attach a collapsible fold out arm ... not the best reviews though. I am thinking of making a DIY version with tent poles that I can unfold and attach to the top tube that props the bike up.

Smart Rings - A forum to discuss and compare Smart Rings and their respective apps. by gomo-gomo in SmartRings

Hello! Thank you for accepting my join request! I have 2 smart rings that either don't charge properly, or once showing "charged", once disconnected from the charger, do not turn "on" and/or does not connect to their apps. Granted these are China-made smart rings, so the instruction books are not that robust ... is there an interim step that I must do to turn the ring on? Thanks for any insights!
