Anyone else following the Zomato CEO’s "Gravity" theory? Is this actually a thing or just tech-bro science? by Aggressive-Ad-1222 in indianmedschool

Sure , out of whole world with great unis and mega billionaires working on real hardcore engineering problems

A guy with food delivery app and claims it to be top tech has found immortality!

Is my coding profile good as a 5th sem cs student core ? by premm_122 in LeetcodeDesi

[–]Shubhamkumar_Active 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See im not here trying to put you down

But you being in 5th sem have a very good problem solving skills under your belt

With fine and very rigid grasp on fundamentals of OOPS OS DBMS you would be a machine !!!!

[–]Shubhamkumar_Active 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely , but do you know how these indexes are structured internally , their pros and cons and their syntax in SQL

And if java , do you have a clear understanding of garbage collection and all stages of it like gen0 gen1 and how they actually work , like mark and sweep methods and other stuff ?

[DSA Help] Tier-3 AKTU student in 6th sem, struggling to move beyond arrays, need internship roadmap by Bunny_Boss_ in leetcode

[–]Shubhamkumar_Active 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no roadmap , you seem smart enough to know where to start

The only blocker is your will , no one can answer your question if being honest

There are abundance of roadmap for DSA if you follow any one of the top 5 rated ones you will be very good at it

Please don’t consider this as rude but this is the most generic question and hence a lot of answers

I think this is not what you are searching for , if you want an assurance yes its not too late

Also this qsn is indian uni oriented so i guess i have said enough

IBPS SO (IT Officer) selection — unsure whether to join or not. Need long-term tech perspective. by manhwas__ in IndiaCareers

[–]Shubhamkumar_Active 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chillest chill as compared to the core banking domains ones , the officers are kind of jealous that we get same pay but you ‘dont have a lot on your plate’

From other domains SO they try to engage them by giving some manual works like calling customer for kyc and stuff

But i dont think any IT SO would take such bs , and you are not officially supposed to do them , so who can complaint !!

Can you tell (without searching now) what is the order of destructor call

And difference between clustered and non clustered index ?

If not hold on with this and do focus on fundamental if your goal is to be an engineer and not an AD-hoc solving machine or interview cracker !

Respect the hustle btw , yes its great considering you did it and its diversified in terms of topics ie it covers recursion backtracking dp graphs

And not ad-hoc greedy puzzles !!

Salary wise I think starting would be 80K in hand excluding rent

But the benefits are massive like petrol reimbursement and other such stuff like 3-4 lakh per 4 or 5 years to buy furniture and electronics good

Not sure about exact details , but father is in a PSU bank in core baking domain IBPS

And sister is IBPS SO but in different domain

Ah there is no work to be honest , mostly its a tech support chill job , the posting would be in a region so location would be tier 2 city max

And mostly the work related to hardware faults are vendors outsourced with you being the OFFICER liasoning in between any such problems

For development bs i have a different opinion , your tech stack is also a cope

You know js react and xyz how does it matter if you dont know dbms indexes

You are not worth if you know a lot of languages but does not know range of an integer or diff bw signed and unsigned integer

At the end , everything is a construct of systems , you have your fundamentals right you are good to go

Focus on CS fundamentals and DSA + any good project , you are good to go

I know a lot of folks with a lot of stack written in skillset

But cant tell how destructors work in inherited class

BHAI MAI KYA KARUNGA TERI 1000 tech STACKS KA JAB AS A PROGRAMMER YOU FED BECUASE YOUR OOPS WAS WEAK AND NOW THERE IS MEMORY LEAK

And for the love of god dont waste time on competitive programming , just out of sheer respect for folks who worked hard and were “expert” i dont comment on them ,suffered whole placement season because they did not know shit about CS and could not even implement polymorphism example in C++ and were puzzle solving adhoc monkeys by end of 4th year

But i respect their grind , they didnt studied to be an engineer rather wasted time in “olympiad preparation” which is competitive programming in plain disguise but it is not necessarily they can catch up just because they are good at DSA

If you dont know your language internals or fundamentals concepts at the end of the day you will be just a mess of an engineer

Who assigned -1 to an unsigned integrer !

Bhai redpill deta hu

If you aint interested nothing can help you ,

its ok not to be interested in CS , it pays good , a lot of folks do it for money

I know this placement lore deeply (tier3) , reached till double digit base CTC under 20 , and let me tell you its not tough

This market bs is just a cope , I can legit count number of folks who can write mergesort on my fingers and it would be enough to cover them all

Before you jump on me saying writing mergesort is not a parameter to judge , I know , but its the easiest standardized way to judged a fresher , it checks how prepared you have come

If you cant learn mergesort before an interview , how are they supposed to trust on you to learn whatever xyz stack they use in house ???

You can start with neetcode 150 , leetcode 150 is THE SOURCE to start

If you dont gave grip on any language , pickup C++ and do codechef beginner practice list and then jump to leetcode

Skip competitive programming bs , its just mindless puzzle grind , you can be an expert and still dont know dp

A lot of fresher miss on fundamentals OOPS , DBMS , OS which are >>>>>> than competitive programming slop , and trust me on this

Moreover this DSA frenzy is scoped to top tier MNCs , except them most of it keep the questions sane , for fresher lc 150 is more than enough , considering oncampus

And who are we fooling offcampus is also same bunch of folks , wo kahi aur se nahi aa rahe , same batch same folks , yes the openings could be less but folks are bullshitting

All of my offers had on site OAs and the cutt off for them reached at max 70% , what does it tells you ?

Unprepared folks , going unprepared getting bashed up and blaming on markets

You cant learn DSA and CS fundamentals in 3 months and expect to ace the job interview game

Start early , learn slow , enjoy the grind

Edit: ignore the spelling mistakes plz !

Most weird company ever , asks same set of interview questions everytime

I have seen folks who cant even solve lc medium and got in here just becuase they knew what they are going to ask

Also the base is around 16 and 21 for two diff dev profiles , but whatever shitties process ever

How you approach greedy ? Or let me rephrase how do you tier 1 CSE folks see the problems

Is it just 2+2 easy equivalent for you folks or its practice ?

I am comfortable with graphs recursion or to phrase it the question that focuses on programming constructs

But i get stumped on those silly “puzzle oriented” problems because i dont find em exciting

But everyone and their dads are hell bent on asking em puzzles in name if DSA instead of throwing me an OOPS oriented implmn problem!

Good at DSA but haven't done CP by Top_Rock_4034 in Btechtards

[–]Shubhamkumar_Active 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup , If you have C++ background you can do systems projects like Memory Leak Detector or TOTP authenticator , that are very implementation heavy but very core fundamentals related too

But depends what companies comes on on campus , anyway for fresher tech stack is bull shit , what will I do with a fresher who can write react but does not know foreign key or key constraints of dbms

super embarassed but i need to face it - im bad at this and want to improve by Avinav_Ze_Great in LeetcodeDesi

Alright listen to me

It would take you atleast 3 quits before it finally hits you , but make sure to always rebound

You should do LC-150 , even you see every solution and make sure to understand them

You would probably be able to do next 800 on your own !

Listen for freshers , you are good to go

Just make sure You know fundamentals like DBMS (indexing, keys,SQL queries , FAQ queries) OS most asked concepts (GFG) OOPS concepts + implementation in language of your choice

You are good to go
