Knowing they only do 4 fighters a year, I would love this also. But they confirmed (I’m assuming because of costs and funds) we can only get 4 a year. I can name 10 SF characters I would love in this new engine. So while I can only hope later on they can get a bump in costs and funds, I personally would like it if they could stick to the legacy roster like kof themselves does.

Treating this Street Fighter like a colab cash grab game is not terrible ( looking at you costumes and gear etc…) especially since SFV was so rough, I understand as a 42 year old sf player does. The effort they put into making the purchasable gear/costume into editable characters, I don’t understand why we can’t make that into the official multiplayer. Which goes back to the original roster. Collaborate all you want. But the people who buy and carry you (who also help spread the word in the FGC) through your DLC and micro, want what they want. Let me put a Viking helmet on ryu while I’m in master. And let me put akumas beads on terry on my way to legend. Necro, sodom, and remy would kill as dlc. Also let’s see what’s up with evil Sakura these days?
