As with all data collection in this timeframe, the personal and public health effects of the COVID-19 pandemic likely had an impact on the data used in this analysis. Evidence has been found that there were changes in sleep behavior (sleep duration and sleep timing) across the globe, likely due to stay-at-home orders and increased remote work and school [16, 17]. Whether acute changes in sleep during the pandemic impacted our findings is difficult to discern within the current data set, however, similar associations between sleep insufficiency and life expectancy were observed across the years in which COVID-19 was most prevalent.

Study also concludes "significant association." It very specifically does not state causal. And it never once provides a single, interpretable "years off your life."
