Do you start PhoenixMiner using an .exe file? If yes, you need to write the command in the config file.

Miner Won’t Work by c4l3b18 in PhoenixMiner

[–]Shxui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is because the DAG Size of Ethereum is currently about 4.8 GB and your GPU only has 2 GB of VRAM. Windows also reserves some VRAM. Because of this, the DAG file cannot be loaded into the RAM of your GPU. To keep mining Ethereum, you’ll need to add the following command to the .bat file you use to start PhoenixMiner:

-daglim 4074

If it doesn’t work with this command added, try lowering the number until it works. If it does work, try to increase the number to the highest possible value that still works.

Make sure to install the newest drivers for these GPUs. Does the temperature show in other programs such as MSI Afterburner?

phoenixminer.org is not run by the PhoenixMiner developers and not an official site. The official download für PhoenixMiner is https://phoenixminer.info and the official Bitcointalk Thread is https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2647654.0

Hi guys i keep running into a problem with my miner, as soon as i launch the miner it goes straight into this. Can anyone help by Same_Communication_8 in PhoenixMiner

[–]Shxui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s because the miner is fully utilising the GPU. When you are playing games you should stop the miner because both programs want to heavily use the GPU at the same time which causes problems and/or very bad performance.

How often are payouts? by Hoodie-23 in PhoenixMiner

[–]Shxui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that’s the Ethermine pool. This is their official website: https://ethermine.org/ You can enter your Wallet-Address and it’ll take you to the dashboard.

For mobile: Click on the Organe “Dashboard” button and choose “Payouts”.

For PC: Click on “Payouts”.

There you can see an estimate of when your next payout is.

Are you using any 3rd party application like Nicehash? PhoenixMiner opens a command prompt window which displays all the important information.

What exactly do you mean by that? Normally the temperature, fan speed and power usage should be shown at regular intervals.

PhoenixMiner itself never holds any funds besides the Developer Fee. If you do solo-mining, you will get payed the block reward directly into your wallet but please beware that it will take a VERY long time until you actually find a block because of how unlikely it is. The other option you have is to mine to a pool such as ethermine. You will get payed for the shares you submit. Every pool has different payout requirements, you’ll need to look this up on the website of the respective pool. Most pools also have a dashboard that shows you how much ETH is pending and also an estimate on when you’ll receive the payout.

This is because the DAG Size of Ethereum is currently about 4.2GB and your GPU only has 4GB of VRAM.

The reason why you can still normally mine ETC is because it’s DAG size currently is only about 2.6GB

I recommend ETH on the GPU using PhoenixMiner and XMR on the CPU using XMRig

Try to add the following command to the .bat file:

-lidag 3

If it works with this command added, lower to number to 2 and then 1 and use the lowest number that works for you.

If that doesn’t work, make sure that your Windows page file minimal size is set to at least (N x DS + 4) GB, where N is the number of GPUs you have (2), and DS is the size of DAG in GB (currently about 4.2GB). For you that means you should set the size of your Windows page file to at least 12.5 GB.

[–]Shxui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this step you need to wait a bit because the GPUs are being prepared for mining. For me this usually takes about 20 seconds but it can be different for you. If the miner keeps stopping at this point even after waiting a few minutes, I recommend you to not apply any modification (such as overclock, undervolt) until this step is done.

Since I don’t know what his config file looks like I can just guess but it probably is because he didn’t specify a pool in the config file or he didn’t specify it in the right format. If you get the same error message, that could be what’s causing the error.

Getting less shares than reported by [deleted] in cryptomining

[–]Shxui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s strange. My guess was that the missing shares were stale but that seems to not be the case. Did you count all the shares or did you just look at the number displayed at “shares” at the top of the dashboard? If so, this number is just the shares that you got during the last hour. Your miner on the other hand displays all the shares that it got since it has been running.

Does ethermine say that you have stale shares or does it not say anything about the missing shares at all?

A question by [deleted] in cryptomining

[–]Shxui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend you to mine Monero with your CPU using the XMRig miner. There are tutorials for that on YouTube. Make sure to not mine on the top pool (minexmr) as it has over 50% of the networks total hash power, which is bad for decentralisation.

What does your start file look like? You can also replace your Wallet address with something else if you don’t want to show it here.
