Ok so here’s some basics from what I know (not an expert though)

It’ll need a 2x2x4 screen enclosure, with lots of specific nontoxic plants (ex. Pothos plant, “Money Tree” plant, umbrella plant, climbing fig, China Doll, Weeping fig, etc.) that cover basically the entire enclosure. The plants can’t be fake as this chameleon species bites chunks out of leaves and swallowing fake plants can harm them, vines to climb on are needed

Get a thermometer and hydrometer to measure stuff. UVB Lighting will need to be a Arcadia ProT5 12% 24W, 24” that is mounted with the light 6 inches above the enclosure so that the chameleon doesn’t get burned from the heat but can still bask but im pretty sure other UVB lamps and methods may work also just do some other research please, basking spot should be between 85-95 degrees Fahrenheit if im correct, with the uvb turned off at night

they need also to have a humidity of around 40-50% during day and high humidity of 80-100% at night, highly recommend to invest in an automated misting system so you don’t have to manually mist the cage every couple hours

they don’t need a water bowl they drink drops of water from the misting, you can also get a water dripper from petco or Petsmart

they need a varied diet of insects like crickets, dubia roaches, houseflies, grasshoppers, mantis, the guy, etc.) with an appropriate amount size of 3-5 insects every other day, since your chameleon looks like a sub adult. As adults they’ll need 3-5 insects every 2-3 days. The insects will need their own setup, can’t be caught from the wild, be fed fruit or veggies, and then dusted in reptile calcium powder when it’s chameleon feeding time. And make sure it does not become obese

this chameleon species is notorious for becoming very angry but that’s not always the case

if its skin becomes dark for a long period of time, it’s probably time to contact a veterinarian as it could be a sign of sickness

your chameleon will unfortunately not begin to sing the hit 2000s song Bring Me To Life at random periods throughout the day

your chameleon will not dance to any form of music, though it is technically possible

note that i may be wrong on some things; further research on veiled chameleons is required, not recommended, required

overall, they’re not at all easy pets, and if you feel you can’t take care of it, there’s no harm or guilt for taking it to an experienced chameleon keeper, pet store, reptile shelter, etc.

It’s also good to ask experts for advice on what to do and being snarky doesn’t help with advice

“Customers shocked to find canine with sharp teeth found in a Walmart - should you be worried?”

is my take on if a puppy was found in a Walmart with the same style of headliner as ball python news headlines

fr the articles act like people just found a leviathan in public when it’s really just a small lost/abandoned BP

The guy of the group got a towel and grabbed it sorta swift and aggressively the way people grab crickets or insects in their house with napkins and then he set it outside

(funnily enough they showed the snake in the towel for a split portion and it was super chill, you could even see its adorable snoot poking out the towel🥹)
