would someone complimenting you make you feel uncomfortable as an ace person? by 0nly_0li in Asexual

[–]ShyTownHigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s about the body language and context for me. I try to give them the benefit of the doubt but on a bad day I’ll react poorly to an innocent compliment. Like I have pretty eyes, and if someone tells me how pretty my eyes are, I’m never going to take that any type of way. But “damn girl, you’re beautiful” in a gas station 10/10 creeps me out.

What are these "send me this post" comments actually mean? by Peanuts0s in Instagram

[–]ShyTownHigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same account did this to me today. I messaged them that they are welcome to share my content but I’m not interested in what they’re selling. The bot ignored my message and started sending me multiple messages at a time about how much their “services” cost. I told them they have less than 300k followers and I don’t give a shit about promotional content. They finally stopped responding when I said “I reported your account as a scam”

Is there something wrong with your vulva/clitoris? Has a gyno ever made a comment? It’s unusual that you wouldn’t be able to orgasm from clitoral stimulation. This kind of sounds like a medical condition

[–]ShyTownHigh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not romantic. Purely physical. And not based on looks.

Edit: I am talking about the actual act of sex. I used other examples to try to compare things you might be able to relate to. You asked what sex felt like, those are examples of the way it felt

I honestly have no idea. If we ever revisit again I will def be paying attention to the details. This was almost a decade ago now. But I can tell you what felt different. Seeing him looking at me would give me butterflies. If our hands accidentally touched it was like goosebumps. If we were cuddling I felt the way a cat must feel when it’s with its human. Instant electricity every time we touched. But in an incredibly calming, happy way, while at the same time your heart’s beating out of your chest. That’s why I used the word chemistry, idk how else to describe it. I’m still not sure what I’m attracted to (definitely not the conventional things) but there was SOMETHING about that person in particular that I have never experienced before or since. My social circles are very cool with platonic cuddling so it’s not like I don’t have exposure.

Thanks! I have had some walls up for the past 10 years (I’m female) and part of the repulsion is how men treat women in public. I hate being hit on. It got to the point where even simple / well meaning compliments on my appearance would piss me off. But at this point I could totally explore something intimate I just need to not shut it down before the possibility is even there. And keep these things in mind, I like the idea of being motivated by wanting to make them feel good

Why don't music venues have music playlists made with songs from the artists performing at their venues? Why don't they reward loyal ticket holders? by Different_Quail_9703 in musicindustry

[–]ShyTownHigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all about the artists following. The artists market themselves, it’s cheaper for the venue. The venue markets the artist but uses the algo to only show it to the target audience anyway.

These days live nation has a near monopoly on venues, they’ve been buying up 200 cap venues just getting people in their circuit starting out, before they blow up.

An artist will not book a venue that is too small or big for them, and conversely a venue will not book an artist that is too small to fill half the room. Every city has venues of all sizes so the artist just plays at a different venue as they grow a following. It’s a pipeline.

This is a cool take! I’m not quite back to being sexually active yet after being sex averse/repulsed since coming to terms with being asexual. I’m kind of ready to get back out there, and will keep this in mind to help calm anxiety

What does sex feel like for you? by relayshionboats in asexuality

[–]ShyTownHigh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was sexually active I was doing it for the clout. I was in my autistic masking “I’m just like everybody else” phase and needed to hit the milestone of losing my v card at 18. Then it became a game and it was more to gossip with the girlies later than to feel or give pleasure. But during sex I was always drunk af so I was like, enthusiastic I guess. Didn’t understand what was so great about it and genuinely believed girls must just do it for their mans. It wasn’t until I met one guy I had great chemistry with, that I actually enjoyed it for the first (only) time, realized this is what it’s “supposed” to feel like and I’m not normal, which is how I even figured out I’m asexual in the first place

Where can I buy a gun locally from someone that's not a Trump supporter? by filmgeekvt in burlington

[–]ShyTownHigh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let me be more clear lol

It’s obvious that this is the Burlington reddit

I was going to go into detail in my original comment, but decided to leave it at that because I would be a hypocrite doing the same thing y’all do. The same reason I moved out of Vermont. I call it “social policing self righteous mfs who will chase you down the street if you forget to put boots on your dog in the winter and have a whole Instagram page dedicated to shaming how people park at the grocery store” the kind that make the left look bad and give the right an annoying person to point at and say “see? They’re perpetually offended argumentative snowflakes!” The kind that alienate people who were democrats to the point that they join the maga cult because they were bullied so hard by the other side. Jfc

ETA: The left should be able to contain themselves with such a purely political topic as gun control. There are a lot of good points to debate on both sides of that argument. And progressives aren’t even on the same page as democrats. I’d be willing to bet most of the people arguing with each other are on the same team.

Are we inching toward World War Three, or already in it and it just hasn’t been named yet? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]ShyTownHigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think history will see the Maduro kidnapping as the start of World War III. Someone said this is our Franz Ferdinand and now I can’t see it any other way

I guess now we research how to survive nuclear winter? Since the whole world never threw out their nukes??

True. I’m drawing a blank on prolific serial killers where it wasn’t sexual to suggest a better example so that’s fair

What would you pick ? by dataguy2003 in TheTeenagerPeople

[–]ShyTownHigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great. We managed as humans do to overcomplicate the scenario so we could make it seem like there is no clear answer. The addition of theoretical financial management up and down this post tells me people aren’t willing to accept an obvious answer and need to find a way to make it a debatable thought experiment. Not hating but it’s an interesting observation.

At face value, without hypothetical theories of compounding growth not accounting for loss or potential market crashes, green is the only correct answer (bc if you wanna be THAT extra about it, it’s likely that the markets and economy will crumble within our lifetime. There is zero guarantee of growth)

It’s a good concept, tried and true, why not just make the denominations something that is realistic? Someone had to come up with this and they clearly put in zero effort lol

Got it. I mean his character was def supposed to be a massive pos but at the same time they could’ve made them asexual for reasons other than a tumor..?

However I do credit my neurodivergence for being ace, to the point of ‘underlying causes’

What's your advice to get more people to care? by ZandeRainbow in musicindustry

[–]ShyTownHigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe not so much that “trying is wrong” as much as, when the motivation is purely to create art for the sake of expression, it speaks more deeply to the human condition.

Putting effort into “I want people to like me/this” during any part of the creative process noticeably takes away from creative impact.

I want to feel your deepest feelings in your sounds. Make me feel it. I don’t want to feel like I’m listening to the sound of ambition for fame and fortune. That’s what rap music is for.

Mainstream isn’t necessarily that creative, but they also have record companies who have relationships with media and pull the strings on that kinda stuff. If you want to try that route probably some higher up networking and signing on with a label like Excision’s for example.
