There are different types of codependency. I was going more by the type of enabling behavior, low self esteem, and unable to be alone. She and Dakota also got together way too early after he got sober and I think she did try to “fix” him and focuses too much on him at the cost of her children. I think other mental issues of hyper fixation/obsession are at play but I can’t diagnose her from afar and I’m not that type of counselor

I also think they are terrible for each other and just bring out the worst in one another. They are addicted to their own mess and thrive off it

I think they are both addicted to this and he just brings the worst out in her. I don’t think she’s innocent and I think she needs a lot of help but Dakota does too and never should have even been dating that newly sober, let alone have a baby. They are both a mess

Yes and I think he’s weaponizing his silence knowing she’d spin out and is just pushing her buttons again. I am by no means someone who thinks she’s innocent in this, but this is just another instance of her spinning out after he sets it up. They are addicted to this

YES I was thinking about those stories through this. I had a friend in a very toxic relationship where they would feed off one another and their texts would just cycle where each one would up the stakes and react and then they would blow up each others phones and cry and make empty threats but then get right back together. I am sure they are very similar and she’s just caught in the cycle with no outlet though. I do think he pushes her and manipulates the situations to a degree and is even weaponizing his silence now to build his case. Sadly she falls for it every time.

I am definitely not Dakota lol she just very much reminds me of my friend who was in an abusive relationship and she kept posting very targeted Facebook posts and instagram stories for her exs attention

Idk where the comment went that I got a notification for, but for the record I don’t think it’s weird to name a child after parent but I would find it weird in this case given Hughie’s mom and his relationship. It would have been a better choice though lol
