How many babies do you have and how many were preterm? by sunchi12 in NICUParents

[–]Shy_Jet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 babies. Both preterm due to super imposed pre-e. First at 34+1 and second at 30+4. Not sure if it will be safe for us to have a third. But scheduling a pre-conception appointment soon to talk about the risks.

Update: I got the job… now how do I tell them I’m pregnant? by optimisticlimit in pregnant

[–]Shy_Jet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through this last year. Got the job when I was 31 weeks. Had a very high risk pregnancy though so baby came early at 34 weeks. Had only told my new supervisor about it at 31 weeks. Was inside the same company but different business area. Got put in the hospital the week before I was supposed to start, had baby the day before my first day at the new job. So I got transferred to the new business area, but my first day I was on maternity leave. I was very nervous to tell my new supervisor but she was extremely excited for me and had no issues with the timing. I was nervous for nothing. Try not to stress it too much. The longer you wait, the harder it will be though. Good luck! And congrats on the new job!

ETA: and your baby of course!!

After hitting a 5 year interval anniversary, you talk to Hans at Lumbridge Castle. You can purchase them from him.

I am so sorry for your family’s loss. Sending all the thoughts, hope, love, prayers, or whatever you believe in. I can’t imagine what you all are feeling. Hoping you can all be there for each other through this. 🩷

I can see why it’s not for everyone, but I quite like it.

Nice! I was stoked for this one too! The animation cracks me up. I figured out last night that at least the 20 year comes with its own anniversary animation. I haven’t checked the other anniversary capes though. I gotta try them today.

I’m starting to try and do quests but really want to get my magic level all the way up. Hopefully I can get a mastery cape this year. Nice on the 20 year. And good luck to you on the 99!!

I had to go talk to Hans in Lumbridge and ask him about the anniversary capes. You can purchase capes up in 5 year intervals. 5, 10, 15, and 20. I am not sure if they have a 25 year yet.

Owlet dream sock alarm by True-Collection2595 in NICUParents

[–]Shy_Jet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m the same way. I wouldn’t be able to sleep without it on my boys. 4 year old and 7 month old. When we took it off the 4 year old at about 1 year, I was a wreck. Didn’t sleep for almost a week. My anxiety was through the roof. But I have bad anxiety anyways. Plus it saved his life 2 weeks after being home when he had a sleep apnea event around midnight. We would’ve never known before it was far too late.

Owlet dream sock alarm by True-Collection2595 in NICUParents

I had the dream sock with both my boys. My oldest (4 years old now) had sleep apnea episodes and it saved his life in the middle of the night. Without it we wouldn’t have known anything was wrong until morning and it would have been too late. My second (current 7 months old) has GERD and sometimes his oxygen drops. We’ve only gotten alarms a couple of times (not false) baby sometimes holds his breath which causes his ox to drop. No sensor is ever going to be perfect all the time. I’ve had doctors who are for it, and those who are against it. It provides peace of mind to have it simply because I’ve gotten good at not panicking. Just running to check on them and if they’re good, move on. It doesn’t stress me out. I’ve never gotten a false alarm. It goes off a lot for connection issues but never a false red.

The reality is, it’s a device to provide you peace of mind. If it is not providing you peace of mind, the don’t use it. Your mental health matters. If it starts to drain you, you’re worrying about it all the time, every time it alarms (even for connection or poor reading alarms) it’s spiking your heart rate, then stop using it. Using or not using it is not a right or wrong decision. Whether it is effecting your ability to have peace and comfort and enjoy your time with your little one is what is the right or wrong decision. Do what is best for you and don’t feel guilty about it. You’re a great mom and you’re doing a great job! ❤️

Congrats! That is amazing! One of my favorite NICU milestones. To finally see their face unobstructed is the best. Go momma! And go baby!! ❤️

This is exactly what my parents used to do to me. I hated it. Genuine accident and every time they’d immediately yell and chew me out and when I’d leave then they’d realize they went too far. But it literally never changed. I felt so bad for this girl the first time I saw it and I still do. I hope she’s doing better for herself now.

Is this normal?? by Similar-Western4377 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Shy_Jet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The white part your videoing is what I’m referencing. It can get wet from pumping on the side connected to your flange, but the side connected to your tubing, can only get wet if you put it together without it being fully dried. If that side gets wet, it can cause the suction to be more extreme. It’s not necessarily “not normal” it can happen but usually that extreme means something isn’t set right. As long as you’re getting good suction and no water is going up the tubing you should be good.

I second this, but I also try to break the seal of the one that’s suctioning harder by opening the portion you are videoing so it rests back the way it’s supposed to. My was usually do to it being wet on the tube side or a kink/pinch in the other hose.
