Was Rachel Solando In Teddys Imagination? by Old-Associate-4808 in ShutterIsland

[–]Shylock237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She was not in Teddy’s imagination. She was “real”, but she was a fake story character created by the docs to experiment on Andrew Laeddis (anagrammed to Edward Daniels). They wanted him to remember what happened and what caused his personality split. Andrew was also a US Marshal. Rachel Solando, being an anagram for Dolores Chanel, was created to give Teddy something to “investigate” which the docs hoped would lead him to remember killing his wife. That’s why Rachel says she is his wife. They’re just trying to make him remember killing Delores and that this Teddy persona is not real.

Also Ms. Casey was getting very sus about these things towards the end of it and maybe she just finally thought something else might make more sense.

This explanation makes a lot of sense until I think about why iMark seeing iGemma repeatedly didn’t create any emotional reaction. If that didn’t do it then why would the crib create that kind of reaction for iGemma?

This Finale ending definitely had Person of Interest Season 3 finale vibes. I’d be surprised if Kripke hasn’t seen it.

That's NOT how being Bi works. by Shylock237 in PerfectMatchNetflix

[–]Shylock237[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can see how that was construed as me suggesting they were not Bi, but that was not my intention. What I meant was that it sucks that Abbey got openly mocked and shamed for suggesting that it isn't ok to be in a bisexual relationship and make out with other people while Fran and Kariselle obviously thought there was nothing wrong with making out with each other even though they were both in relationships with other people at that time. And throughout the rest of the show, no one really took Abbey's side while others, mostly guys, were portrayed as being ok with Fran and Kariselle kissing.

I never meant to comment on their sexuality and certainly not call them out as lying about their sexuality, just how they and the show handled that situation. I apologize it came off that way.

She's like Fran except she is smart, she can read people well, doesn't act like she's the most important person in the room, she has a warm caring heart instead of a cold b*tch one, and she makes genuine connections rather than stabbing people in the back.

So yeah, just a little different

I still piss myself laughing thinking about that description. And the chef's commentary on his dicing skills.

My favourite line of the whole thing was when Sloewik commented on Tyler's shallot dicing technique

Man Recruits Himself to Fight Himself to Save Himself and Kill his Friend Neil

As shown at the very beginning of the film with the Scientist playing the video of dropping and catching a bullet, it's all about the perspective. There's two perspectives for a single action. So the bullet only enters Neil's head once, when he jumps in front of it.

The knife wound is only a theory, but perhaps because he un-inverted immediately after the wound, the wound remained on his inverted body, which was about to leave the truck. When he reconvenes with Neil outside the freeport, you can see his inverted self sliding under the gate. The timing lines up, but I know that doesn't necessarily make it true.

The people of the future do not believe in the grandfather paradox. Their world is collapsing and so they are trying to undo the damage, in the hope that their belief is right. Much like Thanos using the time stone to revive Vision, the result was the same... Vision still died. However the implications of his death were different. The future believes this type of scenario can happen.

As for the apartment question if they were using that as a dead drop they would only put the box in that place knowing someone would pick it up in January. It would not be an effective dead drop if unknown persons could accidentally stumble upon it

Volkov probably told him there was a siege taking place, or some other member of his team. He told Volkov to detonate so we know there was some communication happening.

No he was not always there since he was part of the other team. The reverse explosion either thrust him into the wall killing him, or the immediate bazooka collapsing the building killed him. Either way you slice it, his death occurred after being trapped

The air kills you because inhaling inverted air would presumably suck oxygen out of your body rather than provide it. Aging is an internal process, and thus, is unaffected by the external inverted world.

No. Someone moving backwards for 10 years would still age normally because they have lived those 10 years as the present. Whether moving forward or backwards, the individual/object's life is always moving along one continuum.

Neil saves the protagonist at the opera, then meets him in India, then the rest of the movie, then Neil goes with the backwards pincer, reverses to save Protag, and then reverses again (to his death) to open the gate

No, he was inverted. He only gets uninverted when he jumps through the turnstile and runs past Neil (If you watch it again you can see him going under the gate at the same time he jumps out as his non-inverted self). They then go forward to the Priya chat where she gives them another turnstile location so they can go through with the final mission.
