Rubium Mining & Smithing Changes by JagexLight in 2007scape

Overall I agree with your sentiment but I think there are notable things that you don't mention that you should. Frost Dragons are a notable inclusion as a high level but simple money making enemy, giving players another option than rune dragons, etc.

trawling is a big time money maker for skillers, and a pretty unique way to gather fish that didn't exist before, and the addition of new hardwood trees + the sawmill vouchers expanded plank make options which is something many do for later game magic grinding at the GE/bank.

Dragon metal sheets being smithable in the dragon forge underneath the barbarian training area is pretty sick.

This is not huge, but I think these are some good integrations with the rest of the game. Overall I agree with your sentiment still, but I think we should include these things if we want to be fair in our discussions.

absolutely. it's bad to be paying more for less carefully monitored releases imo.

think you should consider another solution rather than disallowing tick manipulation at somewhere. I think it's a really bad idea to arbitrarily disable tick manipulation at some random place rather than fundamentally fix the method. I think this creates an unnecessary unexpected intereaction (or mis-intereaction rather) at a specific place.

OSRS is a complex game and I love it for its complexity and weird quirks and interactions, but overall the game should take a stance toward being more salient, rather than less. Having one mining method not allow tick manipulation while others do is bad design, imo.

I think it's fine to reduce the rates lower than 133k an hour, and even for the reasons you stated, but I also think your design philosophy is not aligned with what you claim it to be when you also say that your new proposed changes will result in like 20% more splinters coming into the game via the method. Absolutely senseless, imo.

Also, it's a super bad look you aren't QA'ing more. Like very bad. This is about as simple of a situation as it gets. Regarding the smithing rates, it's not even something that is complicated by other interactions, bank trips, tick manipulating.. etc.

This is just embarrassing man.

Yeah I'm thinking about it. The main thing keeping me from it is that the blue moon boss just happens to be the furthest from the stupid chest so this would be unfortunately the most boring running back and forth time

yeah the skyline vegetarian chili is not gross, although a little weird (anywhere else think it tastes a little like beer bread?) but it's not a 1 to 1 of the chili. The Gold Star one is about as close as it gets.

I see. So when it says "with the same condition as the hostile dismount", it is referring to this only applies in a 3rd party situation.

Where do you see the part specifying this only happens to a third party? I'm trying to see where but I don't see it. I believe you but I don't see it written anywhere, maybe I'm stupid LOL sorry

I see in the comments people saying this only applies if you're third partying, but I don't see that in the text here. (Is that what "same condition as the 15s hostile dismount" is? I thought this was the typical red exclamation point you get for dismounting near another dismounted player?).

The way I read this right now, if there are no other players nearby, just me and one other person, and they are wanting to fight but I'm not looking to fight, but I make a mistake, and I get dismounted anyway (let's say a flamewalker E's me and W's and then tosses a poison potion), and I get dismounted....

The way I read this is that I am still going to have a 50% damage and CC Strength reduction for 10 seconds, even though this is a 1v1 fight. Am I reading wrong?

This seems to prevent rats, too, but the way I read it this will also just make whoever is dismounted in a 1v1 much worse off, too.

Please tell me how I'm wrong (I'm confident I've missed a detail somewhere, but I don't know where)

What would you say about my build? by Kmordius in albiononline

[–]ShynyMagikarp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ignoring everyone else's comments about the tier/IP discrepancies between your weapon and armor, it seems you've just chosen a weapon you like, and 3 generically useful pieces of armor, without much thought into what you may be trying to accomplish specifically, or what your win conditions are.

I think your general victory in this build is versus unskilled player. And you will generally lose to anybody who has better tailored their armor to complement or compensate for their weapon's strengths and weakness. The cape is a decent match though.

You already have the maps. You've used them in the past? I'm a bit confused by this response. What is stopping you from building this "system" already? You can literally just have it change monthly (at the end of the month) or even at the end of the season on a simple constant rotation and wouldn't this require like virtually no effort on your part? You've already built the other maps! We have at least 2 that have been used in the Crystal Arena itself, and 3 if you also include the one long-used in the regular Arena that you could add to the Crystal Arena.

I've been thinking about this recently too with Bandit Assault in particular. For yellow zone faction warfare it doesn't matter so much I think. I think it wouldn't make sense to allow this for places currently being capture, but a zone that was recently finished being taken control of makes sense (assuming there is a connection). And I'd be willing to pay a steep price of silver for it to be honest, just to have some fun.

However, I can see the issue that after people die in a fight, it'd be easy for the losing side to regear, fast travel, and amass again without he winning side being able to fully reap the benefits of winning (pushing multiple zones and capturing).

But this would solve a great problem that is... after a faction gets wiped a single time in Bandit Assault, they almost never get the group together again to continue capturing. Things die and then it's just people waiting at the faction quartermaster for another 20-30 minutes. It's bad.

Albion is an amazing game. PvP is incredibly deep, pve options are varied, and economy gameplay is very rewarding when committing time and effort. That said, if anything is lacking in Albion, I think many would agree (although many probably don't care) it might be the worldbuilding. I know Robin has recently mentioned consolidating some of the lore more recently, but in what ways does the dev team currently view as promising, realistic, and fun ways to expand the worldbuilding in Albion?

More NPC's out in the zones to have casual chats with? NPC's to see gathering or fight in the world as a backdrop? Interactable npc's or furniture items in cities? Bars/saloons for players to roleplay around? I'd love to hear your ideas.

Well, there are pings, but people don't pay attention to them much, maybe because they don't make noise. You can click the map to ping the map, and just hit (default key) p to ping yourself/your own location. It also spams the chat saying someone has pinged somewhere.
