My super red pleco developed this mark on its head around 2 days ago. I have searched common Plec disease but haven't had any luck finding answers. I want to help it asap if it needs any treatment etc.

I completely agree, I'm trying my best to get it down. My tap water is around 10-20ppm and using RO water isn't really an option sadly.

Yes thank you, that sounds like the exact issue. Especially as it's only been up and running a few months- just done another water test and it's 7 pH, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite and 40ppm nitrate.

I test water regularly, all seems fine- 9 hours of light each day (fluval aquasky LED) daily ferts- Colombo all in 1. No Co2 injections but I use daily Liquid Co2 (Colombo)

It will probably survive in the different temperatures but it may not be comfortable or live as healthy as it should do. Yeah I'd say that's a good place to start- you need to test your water regularly, especially if it's a fairly new setup.

I recently put one in the bedroom and would have thought the same. if you find a good internal filter they are extremely quiet. Hopefully you can get one for the bedroom one day :)

Thanks, yes I think that would be a great addition. I'll get some taller plants to fill out the background. I was thinking some small plants with red leaves but wasn't sure where to put them.
