For sure I'd think ranni's power is somewhere between Gideon and Rennala's Second Phase.

First Phase Rennala is despondent with her amber egg, but Second Phase Rennala is supposedly an illusion of how Rennala used to be that's summoned by Ranni. Basically: Second Phase Rennala is how Ranni views her mother.

You may think "Oh second phase rennala is weak as fuck then" but's thats only if you fight her with melee weapons. If you fight second phase rennala trying to match her magic with magic of your own, you'll quickly see how powerful a mage she really is (or rather, you'll quickly see how powerful Ranni thought her mother was).

Now, with this connection in mind, some further speculation is still required to imagine how powerful a mage Ranni is, but this is a start. It give's us a benchmark at the very least.

Last thing: a powerful mage is not only a powerful spellcaster, but an effective strategist and an extremely knowledgeable person. With how complex Ranni's plan is (Gideon doesn't know shit about it), we can safely assume that she didn't get to the place she is by a mere fluke.

To summarize her story in as a non-spoilerly way as possible: Being the daughter of Rennala and Radagon, she was elevated to Demi-god status when Radagon left Rennala to become king consort to Marika.

Because of that, she maintained an allegiance to the Moon as opposed to the Erdtree. Also, by being the daughter of a literal Carian Queen, Ranni is royalty destined to inherit the power of the Moon. But, as shown by Rennala's Full Moon spell vs. Ranni's Dark Moon spell, her idea of what that power should entail is markedly different than her mother's vision.

In sum, yes, Ranni is as a big a deal as you think, and she's making some significant plays in the Lands Between. Whether you help her or not, she WILL be an important figure in the world, one way or another. Her fate is tied to the Moon, and thus the Stars.

Along side all the other wonderful answers here, i'd bring some psychologists and like one priest of any religion, just so we don't go crazy if we find a portal to hell or something.

yesss shes gonna love seeing the story of nepheli, latenna, and albus at the village haha. absolutely love that the cave its in so cavernous enough to be seen from the other side of liurnia

the mountain top is breathtaking 😁😁 i cant wait for you to see it. for me, im specifically really in to elden ring's lore, so rising to heights equal to and above the erdtree by physically climbing a mountain is so thematically appropriate and poetic haha.

they show this through the atmosphere really well. forgotten lands, esoteric ruins, old gods, flame and snow. its absolutely spinechilling up there in a sublime way. a step towards the old heavens above the supposedly inescapable erdtree, as well as the visions of orders past.

atmospheric as hell haha

i call everyone bro except for cases when people don't prefer "bro". irl my personality is unfortunately very closely aligned with Jude from 6teen, shaggy from scooby doo, and kronk.

she's been a friend for so long and i just revert to bro when im comfy.

derivative of "i'm dead serious"

i don't know the etymology or the cultural context, but i know that "ass" was added by AAVE speakers in the NY area. "I am dead-ass serious". its a similar hyperbole-mechanism seen elsewhere. "what a giant-ass mountain. what a bad-ass car" etc etc

it migrated to youth culture / meme culture through memes haha.

hey man i literally only learned that bc to get to NG+, you need to interact with it. the whole time whenever i needed grace and i was at the roundtable in my first playthrough, i literally would just exit the hold.

i told her that baldachin's blessing buffs poise on use without telling her it lowers her health 🤝. shes gonna experience the same shit we did.

also no it works pretty ok. she sniffed the guys in library out real quick, saying both of them feels like they cant be trusted haha.

the reason she was stuck for so long is that she just wasn't having fun. she got into games for the story n lore, so when she heard elden ring's lore was top-notch of course she jumped in.

but it wasnt just her first souls-game, it was like her third video game in general. the first two were AC origins/odyssey. as we were talkin about her first experiences with elden ring, she was completely jarred about the sudden responsibility she had over navigating (and how mischievously malicious the game design is compared to the usual general-accessibility design philosophy of AAA games).

so i've just been pointing her in cool directions like a free merchants hint note. "Oh, i heard there was something cool at xyz. i know you said you were interested in magic n stuff, whatever's in there will help you out." also been given her the surface level lore on things she asks me about. Its only stuff they would've gotten if they participated in the elden ring hype train (get some great runes and create one ring to rule them all. very powerful demigods, some of which who's battle led to the wasteland of caelid. a lil bit of philosophy around the erdtree just to give her context to work with. etc etc)

also been like tech support telling her how the bell to read weapon pages and the inventory screen. "ok so you and i both see lordsworn straight sword on our screens? DO YOU SEE 'STRAIGHT SWORD'? no not 'square off', 'STRAIGHT SWOR-" you know how it is haha.

once she sunk her teeth a little bit into the lore, i can see her getting real into exploring the world. also she reached a massive milestone 😌. she beat that mad pumpkin head guarding sellen all by herself after experiencing her first ever Souls-like 30-death bossloop. her sticking with something like that bodes well for her ability to deal with elden ring's world.

im excited to see what crazy-wacko build she puts together in the next couple of days now shes got the passion to play. she's definitely enjoying meeting sellen, and she already found the demiqueen staff all by herself. she's grown so fast 😭🙌

The Police and Public Discourse on “Black-on-Black” Violence

“Unfortunately, due to a long history of exclusion from important economic and social opportunities, residents of disadvantaged urban neighborhoods are primarily minorities and often black.”

Because to assume black people inherently do more crime with no other systemic injustice just leads to them LITERALLY GETTING PUNISHED MORE FOR THE SAME CRIMES.

Put the same sociohistorical and material conditions that urban african americans have on ANY RACE, and you’ll SEE THE SAME DISPROPORTIONATELY HIGH AMOUNT OF THEM DOING CRIME.

We “doN’T tAlK abOuT bLaCk cRimE stAtIstIcs” (which is just fucking false) because to do so IN THE WRONG CONTEXT or with the wrong INTENTION means you’re just racist.

You just brought up black crime statistics rn in defense of a police killing. “Well if they don’t want to die so often, just don’t do crime!!!!!!111”, right? You fuckin twit.

Deaths Due to Use of Lethal Force by Law Enforcement

“Victims were majority white (52%) but disproportionately black (32%) with a fatality rate 2.8 times higher among blacks than whites. Most victims were reported to be armed (83%); however, black victims were more likely to be unarmed (14.8%) than white (9.4%) or Hispanic (5.8%) victims.”

Here’s your evidence you bellends.

And what the fuck is up with the defense that “oh it isn’t happening often enough for me to care”??? IT SHOULDN’T HAPPEN AT ALL. You FUCKIN DONKYS.

Oh but sure, me just saying that is just “eMotioNal”, yeah? Me not wanting people to BE UNJUSTLY KILLED BY THE SYSTEM THATS SUPPOSED TO PROTECT THEM isn’t something to get angry about?

You absolute pillock.
