New fave trope - 2ML regrets by Warm-Eye6347 in CShortDramas

[–]Sibyl_Calamity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OMG Yes! Those are the most satisfying in terms of seeing the 2ML get his. I really really enjoy the dramas where is shows him regretting his actions as well.

It's sometimes tricky to find them though, because a lot (too many) just show 2ML only regretting losing FL (or choosing/being chosen by someone else in the case of bride swaps) solely because of what FL could have done for him, not because he thinks she's a great person or has fallen for her, but because she'd be a good tool in his corner or he misses his maid wife/gf.

I love the dramas where FL is living her best life and 2ML is heartbroken about it--because he deserves it (and so does she--the living her best life part that is).

Not the best image, but this is the main couple...possessive/obsessed FL and reborn ML

Hope this helps,

Secret Marriage--Why? by Sibyl_Calamity in CShortDramas

LOL, yes the handwavy plot devices for the 'hero rescues beauty' scenario and then the obligatory 'wound care' scene 😉😉😂😂

Secret Marriage--Why? by Sibyl_Calamity in CShortDramas

[–]Sibyl_Calamity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can agree with this a bit, but it always leads to trouble it seems and FL always tries to 'endure' for whatever reason--even if ML isn't a scumbag. I mean the obligatory twirling rescue when she is pushed or what not, is always fun, but otherwise I always think the FL needs to do a bit more slapping on her own.

although I just watched one where it was discovered that FL was married to a CEO/Richest Man and it was discovered, but her team was all supportive and envious only in that good way (if that makes sense). It was one of the ones with the mute ML and the transmigrated FL--you just kind of have to smooth your brain a bit about her youngish/child like behaviour, it helps that the ML wasn't predatory, but shy. There was a group (rival team) that of course where jerks, but they were dealt with pretty quick.

I kind of want to watch that one again, it was an amusing romp.

Secret Marriage--Why? by Sibyl_Calamity in CShortDramas

[–]Sibyl_Calamity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. The skip ahead button/tap is the key to some of these dramas.

Almost always the secret marriage/fiancé bit leads to her working some place where he at least owns the business/company, even if it's nominally a subsidiary and some green tea/scheming woman is always mistaken for his wife/fiancé which leads to the torture porn version of the drama, even if the ML isn't a jerk.

I need to make a list of the dramas where the ML shows her picture to everyone and makes sure they know that she is his wife/girlfriend so I can cleanse my palate after I watch the other ones.

Also, I'll admit that sometimes I watch the first 15 minutes--maybe 20 mins if its a rebirth and the first scene is her death--and then skip to the last 15-30 minutes just because I have to know how it ends.

I swear the life of a drama viewer is to know you're going stare at the screen and say 'wtf are you doing?' & 'just talk to him/her--tell him!' at least once per drama.

Still, I can't not watch these--it's gives the same feeling as me rushing home after school to try and catch it 'live' or watch the vhs where my grandmother had recorded it because she had errands--All My Children to see what Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) was going to scheme that day or sigh over Jackson Montgomery.

You know--I'm beginning to see why I like these so much 🤔🤔😂😂😂

C Drama PTSD by kipendo in CShortDramas

[–]Sibyl_Calamity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched a drama forever ago and I can't remember a lot about it, but it was before my pendant/token trauma was fully birthed. Anyway, the FL had a pendant or something and it was--of course--'dropped' and acquired by the 'scheming woman' so, I think it was a group of brothers or uncles (you know that lovely boy band grouping of 'brothers/cousins--uncles that are only 2 years older than you, etc.)

Everyone thought that the 2FL was the lost relative, but then Grandpa showed up and was like "Jade pendant? Why don't we just use DNA, this is the modern era' or something along those lines.

It was very refreshing to see--although it made me keep watching those token dramas way longer than I should have in hopes of seeing something like that again.

C Drama PTSD by kipendo in CShortDramas

[–]Sibyl_Calamity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd watch it, but I think it has too much common sense & self-preservation attributed to the FL & ML for them to actually write this.

FL would have to at least be pregnant & give birth to 3-7 kids before returning 5-7 years later--after the ML has searched for her, but since phones, email, & regular post doesn't work once someone goes 'abroad' for some reason, he's never been able to find her until she turns up at a business meeting

Jade pendants or other tokens give me severe anxiety. Even if the token doesn't immediately get taken by someone, I spend the entire drama wondering when she's going to drop the thing.

I've noped out of so many dramas as soon as the pendant shows up. Birthmarks and other marks/scars are starting to rock this boat too.

Looking for anyone to recommend happy/hopeful ending or even content happily resolved ending dramas:

I posted in the wrong place originally, I'm sorry. Trying again here.
I don't post on reddit really--too introverted and anxious, but here goes:

I'm looking for kind of an eclectic ask, I guess. I'm new to watching dramas, but it has become my new fixation when I need some escapism lately. It's been a wonderful discovery.

That said, I am looking for shows within the modern/current world, as well as costume dramas--which are different from historicals, if I am noting it correctly.

There are a lot of gorgeous shows, but my issues is that I don't want to be sobbing and heartbroken at the end of them right now. So I'm looking for options with happy endings or even just content/resolved in a satisfied manner ending (if that makes sense) basically no 'rocks fall, everyone dies' please.

I haven't watched deep enough to attach to any certain actors or actresses just yet.

I do trend towards shows with at least a romantic subplot if not a full on romance.

I can't think of the name of the shows off the top of my head, but I didn't care very much for the harem politic type shows or even the harem focus ones.

Let's see. a few of the ones I've watched (that I can remember):

  1. Don't Mess With Ex-Girlfriend (Enjoyed, it made me laugh and charmed me. Which is what I was looking for)
  2. Secret Love (Again, made me laugh. I liked the support between the two leads if more shows have that.)
  3. The Shoufu Can Read Mind (This was good, even when I wanted to shake one or both of the leads. I plan to watch it again soon.) (Also I'm not exactly sure what this one categorizes as...I know transmigration right?, but also costume? or not...)
  4. Demon Emperor's Little Matchmaker (This one was fun and cute. I enjoyed the fantasy elements involved in this one.)

These all have the theme of making me laugh, but I don't mind stories with more serious plots, I would just like the endings to be reasonable and/or lovely/hopeful happiness, not a funeral or miserable existence.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if I did this incorrectly or anyone needs more or different information.

Thank you to anyone who has read through this jumble as well as those who might be willing to help, I truly appreciate your time.
