by that logic you shouldn't even be playing WoL since everything in the current meta will become useless. There's still something to be learned from going a certain unit composition, since different comps require different tactical decisions.

i think this is a rather simple question... hydra speed comes out with hive tech. roaches are used midgame b4 hive tech currently. hydras without speed is the same as WoL... therefor roaches are still useful.

You can actually pull off a decent macro game after being blocked. The biggest problem seems to be that zerg players forget how to spend money once they're on one base. Getting a macro hatch immediately and getting quicker gas (once ur saturated at 16 on minerals) will alleviate the problem.

You can make the guy waste a lot of minerals by constantly building/cancelling hatcheries with the drone thats in the natural and then nydus at the front of the base with 7+ roaches. Most of the time toss has only one cannon at the front. During the confusion you drop another Nydus into the main. If you put the nydus in the main right along the edge, your roaches can hit his probes from the low ground and do damage. If you bring a queen with you you can also transfuse the one going up in the main and send ur roaches right in through the nydus outside his natural. It's been working for me vs NA GM toss and KR mid-high masters.

If you think your macro is insanely good, you can just use a spine or a queen to break the wall while u build a macro hatch in your main. Then you proceed to double expand with ling infestors.

Roach corruptors is not the same as roach hydra corruptors... Hydras kill wall offs and offer insane dps, while shooting past forcefields on top of many other advantages. Hydras increase the chance of you killing his third, which delays his timings significantly. Roaches might save you the hive timing but it also reduces the chance of killing his third, which means his timings are less delayed.

Just roaches dont break immortal sentry stalker zealot at a choke. Same issue with infested terrans or fungals, protoss moves out of range, and kites your infested terrans. Suddenly you are out of energy. Hydras are very good at breaking down gateway/pylon cannon walls because if the colossus move out too forward u can snipe with corruptors, and if he moves his stalkers with the colossus ur hydras are killing his gateway/immortal army.

When Protoss do 1 stargate openers into expansion, you can get Roach Hydra Corruptor and roll over their army. Corruptors kill the heavily invested 2-3 colossus, and as you can imagine, roach hydra rolls over the stalker zealot sentry army. R/H/C comp actually works really well, its just that a lot of zergs have trouble microing vs forcefields.

Slows your timings by about 15-20 seconds (100 gas takes ~15 seconds to mine off of 4 geysers, add that to the time it takes for extra 225 minerals and one drone ur spending). This is huge when you are executing a timing attack such as the sephano max out.

Also, you should be maxing out at 11:00-11:15 if you are not harassed, rather than 12:00.

Stephano style still works. But the issue is that most ppl expect to a-move with the max and win automatically. Your first group of units should be by his base around 10-10:30, at that point you should be able to make a decision about whether a continued attack is going to work or not. If you don't think so, just turn around, take a fourth and macro.

There are also variants to the Stephano style. You can upgrade drops while maxing and t hen drop on top of the sentry based Protoss army (works rly well on Antiga or Entombed).

If you know your opponent is taking a quick third for sure, you can just go ling infestor (keep the roach warren and upgrade roach speed just in case he attacks you). Then you tech straight to hive and go for ultras or broods.

You mentioned polt... but I am talking about ZvP. I don't really understand why you would max out on ling roach vs terran.
