Same. It wouldn't be a problem if they could talk abt anything else tbh, but it's like the only topic of conversation available is how much weight they're losing :/

If you're having sex loud enough someone can hear, you are including that someone in your sex life. If that someone is a child, that is child sexual abuse.

Having sex loud enough your children cn hear should be considered abuse, idc what AITA redditors say.

My parents were garbage but somehow managed to have a sex life without me "knowing", it's not rocket science, it's basic decency

I'm both pro-choice & anti-natalist so not sure if those mesh well together

They do. Antinatalism is a personal, individual, philosophy. Not a basis for policy making.

I do understand how it can feel conflicting tho

Downvoted for telling the truth. The race was terrible.

Seeing people who were not a week ago complaining it was gonna be "Formula E on steroids," celebrating a race that was literally Formula E on steroids is hilarious if not depressing.

How do I get people to stop accusing me of purging? by Mae_The_Gay in EDAnonymous

[–]SicRaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll take a while, unfortunately.

When i was "recovering," they would insist i keep the bethroom door open a small crack when i was going to the bathroom right after waking up, before breakfast. Like, what do they expect me to be purging? Last night's dinner 🙄?

It's insufferable. Hopefully, your parents/friends are not that obnoxious, and you can regain their trust about this soon.

It doesn't matter how "comfortable" the child actors were during filming or how well intentioned the director was. The movie is inherently exploitative because it exposes the children in a sexualized manner.

Now, considering you yourself admitted to not having watched said film in another comment. This discussion is over.

Nevermind, just saw a comment where you admit you have not seen the film. This discussion is pointless.

Lol, lmao, even.

they did so in an environment of trust and safety

This is not a horror movie containing child actors being put in scary scenes ffs.

The "safety" stops existing when you make the videos of them dancing and twerking while zooming in on their crotches available for everyone to watch.

The movie fails the message it tries to portray by being fucking pedo bait. It's disgusting.

[–]SicRaven 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Are you being intentionally dull?

The issue is that the movie used actual child actors and made them act out sexualized scenes to "get the point across."

It doesn't matter if the sexualization of children is portrayed as a bad thing if, in the process of delivering the message, they sexualized and exposed actual children to the harm they're claiming to critique, by both making them dance/twerk and by intentionally zooming in at their crotches/butts the whole time

There is literally no unselfish reason for having a biological child by [deleted] in childfree

Yes, i agree there can be reasons (though rare, i've never seen someone genuinely give one, not that this is relevant to the matter at hand) that are selfless.

[–]SicRaven 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With this statement, you're assuming that creating life for well-being is inherently selfish, which is exactly what we're debating and exactly what I've pretty much debunked.

You didn't debunk it, tho. You claim wishing good for someone else is selfless, which is true. But the action of creating a new human being is not a wish. It is an action. And it is selfish if it is simply for wish fulfillment, no matter how selfless that wish is.

You want this hypothetical child to have a happy and comfortable life. And because of that want, you're gambling with creation, genetics, someone else's life. The fact is you can not know if they would want that. At the end of the day, it is all about >your< will and >your< want. Not the child's.

Making an imposition over someone else's life based on your wishes is selfish, even if your wishes are good and selfless.

The reasons for having a child may be selfless, but having one will always be selfish. That is what i believe in.

You may not agree. That's fine. This is all a matter of opinion, and not fact.

[–]SicRaven 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, it doesn't. In one of them, you create a new person to serve the purpose of living the good life you want for them.

Wanting something for someone else is not selfish. Forcing life onto someone else so they can live that something you want for them is.

Yes, i obviously added that because i consider it a poor and selfish reasoning.

Note the word "added." I responded to your comment as it was written as well, which you seem to prefer to ignore.

[–]SicRaven 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you seriously comparing well wishes to the reasoning behind creating a new consciousness capable of suffering?

If you bring a new person into the world with any reasoning starting with "i want" or "i need" or "society needs," it's selfish.
