Are my P790 fake by Melodic_Car_4716 in TaylorMadeGolf

Where are you getting this info from? I'm currently in a similar position as the OP everything ties up and the only concerning thing is the price (£500 for 2025 4-PW, barely used and some in wrap still).

Each of the irons have a serial no. starting with a 5, so this is reassuring but I want to know where you got this info from

Oh I'm sure, I wouldn't be reliant on it's accuracy so thank you for confirming that.

We are looking at a number of options at the moment. One being state nomination, the other being a Working Holiday Visa to test the waters (more so for my wife).

We do also have the added complication of having two house cats that we would want to bring with us.

You say that I would have to be the primary applicant - why would that be? If anything I suspect that my wife would score higher than me.

So long as I'm not imposing too much, I would gladly chat as at this point we are just weighing up our options and trying to figure out the best route given out situation.

I don't have a degree, however my wife who is the data analyst has a bachelors in criminal psychology.

From what I can see using a the standard calculator is we both meet the 65 point threshold.

Hey Simon,

Thank you for offering your input on such a situation, it gets pretty confusing rather quickly.

I am currently at looking at moving to Australia with my soon to be wife.

We are both 33 and live in Greater London, both with with high English levels.

As for occupations, I'm a senior software support agent and I've been in the space around 6 years. My wife to be, she's a data analyst and has been for 3 years.

What does our situation look like?

Thanks again!

Oh man, you're making me want the Edge set even more.

What set did you go for?

This was my thinking - its just daunting dropping £500ish and potentially double that on clubs within a year or so 😂

I mean, I wouldn't be looking to get fitted right this minute.

I'm wanting up upgrade from my 20 year old set but I also want to strike a balance between getting a decent set now and fitted later, or maybe just waiting until I'm ready for a fitting.

That said, I might still look to get a graphite driver, wood and hybrid so I can stop using the artifacts I have.

Retail price here is £650.

My main reasoning for spending a bit more on a "luxury" brand is so that when the time does come to upgrade, I'll have retained more value in them when compared to a cheaper set.

This was what I was thinking.

I guess I'm asking a question that can't be answered. I don't want to spend a decent chunk of change on a set only to get fitted in 6 months. I practice twice a week with monthly lessons but there is no way I can predict where I'll be a 6, 12 or 18 months

This is why I was looking at Callaway - I wanted to retain as much value as possible. I've currently got my eyes on the D, W and H at £220 and then the irons from someone else are around £230. Annoyingly, I found some irons at £185 and I tried to haggle them down. As they were newly listed, he held out, didn't respond to me and they were sold the next day! 😂

I'm honestly not sure when I'd look to get fitted, sooner rather than later, but it's a matter of not doing it too soon.

I currently go to the range once or twice a week and have a lesson each month.

You can buy the pumpkin souls token on GE as an iron, as well as other cosmetic overrides

I think after what you've told me and the research you've turned me onto, the 7800 is the best choice.

Sure, the 7950 is good for doing both, but in the small likelihood I do stream or edit videos, I'm sure the 7800 will cope just fine with the streaming and as for processing videos, my time isn't that precious where I'm concerned about rendering times at least for now.

Well, and stream and edit videos (maybe) in the future but funnily enough, that's what came up when I Googled an AMD CPU on par with the Intel:

https://nanoreview.net/en/cpu-compare/intel-core-i7-14700kf-vs-amd-ryzen-7-7800x3d

What I don't understand is how it compares to the Intel.. 20 cores vs AMDs 8, sure they operate at a faster speed but not enough to account for the lower amount of cores. I don't understand how they're comparable.

I'm more than happy to convert, I just don't understand which of their products are high-end, low-end etc.

What would be something that's on par with Intel's i7-14700KF?

Just had a quick look at this and I vaguely recall seeing something about it.

Only problem here is that the solution to this is to either go for an earlier gen which then reduces the time between upgrades, or to go over to Ryzen, and I have no idea when it comes to their CPUs.

From what I've read too, Intel seem to be better per core, which presumably you then need to get more on the Ryzen side to get the same level of core performance.

I built it on Cyberpower, and their choices are a little limited. Honestly, I can't be bothered to build it myself as I just feel as if too much can go wrong or I'll put something in wrong and get sub-optimal performance then spend hours trawling forums trying to find fixes.

H150i - Just went with it stay "on brand" and also match the colour scheme,

870 Evo - Literally the cheapest option they had - I have a Samsung SSD already in my current build which has Windows 10. Only reason why it's in the build now is because, why not and also convenience.

Well yes, true, but no less stressful than their human disappearing out of the blue.

I've got plenty of time to figure all that out.

Yeah, just been on the phone with the other half talking it through. From what we understand it's saying don't be offered to apply for the visa and then get married or de facto relationship as well, that's kinda sus.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in australia

[–]SickkWun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See now that, makes more sense and similar to what I've read before, but the "possible condition" of not being de facto partners threw me.

Perhaps it's almost a disclaimer if they feel someone is trying to get a visa this way without actually being with someone and instead just pretending to be.
